Mexico City tips from a first timer

Just got back from a weekend trip in CDMX, and had a great time. Stayed in Zocalo. Food great, people great, etc. We did not carry enough cash, especially in smaller denominations. Many small shops would not break a 500 for a small purchase. My advice regarding cash is to always have it and have plenty of 100s and smaller if you feel like easily tipping concierges, waiters, etc. Also always greet someone with a buenos dias, tardes, noches - it starts the interaction off in a good way, and do not assume that you will get away with speaking English, practice some basic Spanish and you’ll fare much better.

If anyone has questions about using the CBX to fly from TIJ, I thought it was pretty easy and took much less time than I imagined.
