Sigma 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 OS/HSM on a Minolta Maxxum 5
I bought a Minolta Maxxum 5 off eBay recently! My current DSLR is a Sony a900 and, being a casual birder, I picked up this Sigma to use for it. Naturally, I thought the combination of giant newer lens with a smaller film SLR would be amusing, and it did not disappoint.
Despite being a rather newer in-lens motorized lens with optical stabilization, it all seems to be supported and work just fine on this camera.
For the price I got it, I am liking the Maxxum 5 so far. The control surface is a bit nonsensical to my hands, but it has a lot of the same features I care about on the a900, and supports many of the same accessories.

Went to Five Rivers a couple of weeks ago early in the morning to do some light birding. Ended up being a very productive outing.
Yes, the 3rd to last shot is a bald eagle. I have a couple more shots of it, but none much clearer. I was behind a treeline when it swooped out over the water, and I had to panic and try and get a shot. Complete luck I got anything at all!

Went to Washington Park yesterday with some other local photographers. Took some closeup shots, and thought I might as well post here since others were doing the same.
I took these photos on a Sony a900 with a Minolta 70-210mm f/4 "Beercan" lens. Processed them as RAWs in Darktable.
