anybody else deal with the same issue?
got back into chess lately and been trying to reach the 4 digit club again and one thing i've noticed with all my games during analysis is that i'll have a great position. lead in development, lots of control in the center, +4 advantage according to the engine and then BAM, i'll do something like this and end up either blundering a piece or straight up making a mistake that gives my opponent an easier edge and it all goes down from there
one thing i do notice though is that when i encounter positions like the picture above (pretend i didn't blunder my knight), i'll really struggle to find a good move that will allow me to capitalize on the position. i look for moves that improve my position if i can't find any forcing movies but all of my ideas i feel like are too passive and don't really do anything. it's really annoying and it's a big issue i have with all my games, and i'm wondering if anybody else has the same problem too.
just bought my first project for $5000. what do i need to do to get her running again?
finally did it
finally got around to doing the infamous blend door actuator in my '04 grand marquis since i got tired of the unbearable heat down where i live. honestly, it wasn't as bad as i had thought. instead of doing the cheater way of removing the air bag and breaking off the tabs, i ended up pulling the dash and replaced it there. sadly, two of the screws that held the top of the dash wouldn't fit and the black interior piece doesn't fit 100% perfectly, but it doesn't matter because i now have cold(er) air back 😎
for anyone wanting to do this themselves, i would highly recommend /u/MarauderV8's tutorial (which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TamFR2KzILM). it's way easier than the other ways people have done it via the passenger airbag imo. just make sure you disconnect the battery and leave it for about an hour to discharge any capacitance in the airbags. on my car, there are also two black christmas trees that hold the dash to the glove box and an hidden 7mm screw near where the steering wheel is on the left so you'll have to remove those before pulling the dashboard out. also before dropping the steering column PLEASE make sure the gear indicator cable is disconnected. it should be a very thin red wire underneath the steering column when you remove the metal plate. if you don't, there's a good chance that you can snap it and that'll be a whole other problem you have to deal with 🥴
My objectively correct tier list
repost because i forgot the bowl cut looking dude was yotsuba

[Ford Taurus SHO] spotted this beauty in a parking lot a couple of months ago
you never see any ford tauruses anymore let alone an SHO from the 90s
anybody else reach a plateau in their hobbies because they are too scared of progression?
i don't know if anybody else feels this way but it was something i noticed with the hobbies in my life. start a hobby, learn about it extremely quickly, and then lose interest because it starts to get challenging. for example, i started playing chess a couple of years ago and learned a ton about it. openings, getting good at tactics, etc. then i play games with real people and realize that i absolutely suck. then, i lose interest because i feel like i'm not making any progress and i move on to something else. it's really frustrating and annoying. i know i could make progress if i continue, but it feels like a mental blockage that i have to really put in the effort to overcome. hopefully it makes sense to y'all. it's really difficult to put into words.
is this standard maintenance procedure if you own a ford?
Are these tires safe for a 1,000 mile road trip?
just replaced the starter and it's still not cranking over. did i do something wrong?
OBS Ford with a factory optioned single gas tank
found on ebay. no idea these were even made. i thought they only came with dual tanks from the factory. looks like it also has the old factory slot mags judging by the wheel caps. shame it's being scrapped
how can i protect my leaf springs from rust? would fluid film suffice?
what kind of ramen should i use to fix this?
couldn't find anything about it. from a 1996 f-150 2wd with a 4.9l i6 and a manual transmission. harness is located on the driver's side close to the brake booster and has a black/green wire running it
