DIY Brisingr pendant

What I used:

- Wooden DIY sticks

- White arcylic paint

- Blue arcylic paint

- Silver nail polish mixed with acetone

- A STRONG pair of scissors. Heavy emphasis on strong.

- Aluminium wire

- Pair of pliers

- Pentart cardboard glue & liquid Pritt glue (can be replaced with Technopol)

- Prayers, dreams and patience

- Possibly witchcraft

If enough people request it, I will make a tutorial with Ithring.

It took me about 5-8 hours to make if we count in all the trial and error parts with trying to make it canon-shiny. Unfortunetly it is still not shiny enough, but at least it shines🫠.

Remaking my oc dragon cause the four-legged build grew on me

To say the least it has been a long while since I drew four-legged dragons, and apparently I almost forgot how to do their paws.

Helios has always been inspired by draft horses, specifically the Percheron and Ardennes, hence she is built like a tank.

Making a jointed wing for my lava dragon

So I personally found that the wings for the Eldrador lava dragon were way too small, and had the most inconvenient mold possible which made it pretty hard to take pictures of this model. Hence I decided to take matters into my own hands and make classic pole-based rotational joints which allow the bones to fold onto eachother.

The biggest hurdle is copying the ball joint at least to a near-perfect extent but hopefully I'll be able to find a different solution.

How different is the book from the series, and is it good?

As the question says, I would like to know your opinions on the books and how different they are compared to the show. Lately I have been contemplating that I should get into the book series (especially because the Netflix show left a pretty bad taste in my mouth) but I wanna hear some insight first.

How it feels to play this game as a dragon lover

If not friend, why friend-shaped? I understand the lore reasons as to why we can't ride them, but these drakes have my heart. They are one of the most beautiful wyverns I have ever laid my eyes upon.

Is it possible to recreate this in the game?

Basically, I have an armor design of my own (the sketch above) that I wanna recreate in LOTRO, and so far the closest I got with my search was the helmet but even then, it has antlers instead of dragon horns.

Regarding the colour scheme, the armor/metallic parts are supposed charcoal black (aka unpolished armor - she can't afford the luxury of the shiny silver look lol) but given my limited choices I'm willing to settle for the "normal" metallic colours too. Pants were meant to be navy blue but at this point, any type of black or grey can do, IT JUST HAS TO BE BAGGY. The undershirt, it can be any type of cold or neutral dark colour, since it is not very visible anyway.

I have been trying to sort through the database myself for some time, alas it seems I have to request the aid of the community now.

Oversized map of Alegaësia - the middle west is done! (South-west and North-west + Vroengard coming soon)

I apologize in advance if I drew a few things incorrectly, since I had to eyeball most of the scaling.

Drawing the map of Alegaësia in A2- A3 paper scale

So since the walls of my room are pretty empty, I have decided that I shall decorate it with the maps of my favourite book series. I am of course, using the books as reference, and will also attach close up maps from the sequal books (Murtagh, The fork, the witch and the worm) too once I'm done with this.

So far imo it kinda looks like something a dragon had scratched with a pencil in their claws but it will hopefully get better over time.

Wish me a happy survival once I reach Du Weldenwarden...

Went to the Summer Mondocon as Mizu

To be honest, I don't know how I pulled this off either.

This was my first ever cosplay and I made everything by myself (except for the pants and shirt, those were cheap clothes I bought, a pair of flared jeans and a pajama shirt and modified them.). It took me approximately 1 week and 2 days to hand-sew all of this. Hat was made out of cardboard, painted with arcylics, the sword was cut from soft wood then yet again painted with arcylics.

Unfortunetly the glasses were definetly the weakest point of my cosplay (for some mysterious reason none of the local stores had orange foliage so I had to settle for red and I didn't have much options with the frames either).

Wyvern OC - Helios

Definetly not the most interesting colour palette, but blue roan is one of my favourite "coats" both in the horse world and dragons. My phone camera also doesn't help since it tones down the vibrancy.

Anyway, as I've said before, his look was inspired by the blue roan horse coat (2nd picture). With him I specifically wanted to create a wyvern that is quite the opposite of the standard elegant dragons like Saphira or Glaedr, so I tried to make his frame extra bulky and more "ugly" leaning. His entire head was meant to mimick an equine roman nose (3rd picture) and his bridle is pretty much just a simplified bitless sidepull but it was also heavily influenced by Century: Age of Ashes. (Picture 4-5)

For the saddle, I decided to include the straps that Murtagh has been mentioned to use for stability multiple times, and added a saddle pad.

His rider's design is currently in the making but some backstory (which is still being worked on, might be subject to change):

His rider used to be another slave to Galbatorix similarly to Murtagh but she escaped a year before Eragon even found Saphira's egg.

Now I am still tapping out the constraints of the established lore (even planning to re-read the entire series just to make sure my memory is not messing with me) so please correct me if some parts of their backstory might be lore-breaking but lately I was thinking if there was a possibility of a dragon to remotely hatch through mind-touching. I decided to experiement with it through my OC's lore so here it comes (this really might be changed as it could potentially break the lore):

So 1.5 years prior to Eragon finding the egg, Helios was somewhat at the brink of death because he couldn't find anyone to hatch for in Du Weldenwarden and the gajillion protection spells prevented his mind from reaching very far. Eventually he was written off as a lost cause, had all the spells lifted and got handed to Oromis. During the time his egg was in Oromis's care he managed to branch out all the way to the Empire where he found the mind of his rider and just probed into a it a teensy bit, establishing a link, which allowed him to finally hatch.

Meanwhile the rider back in Uru'baen started thinking she was going schrizophenic because all she felt was a sharp pain in her head then the Gedway Ignisia burned onto her temple and for a whole year she was having some invisible tugging feeling towards Du Weldenwarden. After miraculously escaping the Empire she decided to investigate it, which led her to Oromis and Helios.

Could yap some more, but then this post would become as long as the books.

Vecna's a firebender, confirmed?

Jokes aside, will this actually be explained in later episodes (I'm only at s5 ep 4) or is it one of those new things that got added last minute with little to no background info?

Edit: okay he used telekinesis I'm sorry

[Reupload/update I forgot to include] Some more details and adjustments I added to lego Eddie!

-Made the DIO artwork on the back sharper and more vibrant

-Added the details of his belt

-Rips in the jeans

-Dirt on the shoes

Since lego never gave us an Eddie minifig, I made one

I wouldn't say it's the best (unfortunetly, I don't have any skin-coloured heads and hands so I made-do with the default yellow while I hunt for some)

What I used:

- (Ninjago) Kai's double sided face print and the yellow hands of another minifig

- (Friends) Olivia's hair

- (Lego city) The torso was originally a fireman uniform which I painted over with a white base. Then I carved the name and smaller motifs with a toothpick (unfortunetly didn't turn out too well but the vest covers it up). The red devil was drawn on paper then cut out and used dry glue to stick it onto the torso.

- The legs idk which theme I stole them from, they used to be plain black legs before I painted the shoes and the wallet chain.

-The vest is entirely made of paper. I personally wanted it to be 3D instead of just being painted on. Putting it and tailoring it on the minifig was a whole other battle though.

**Unfortunetly cannot post a pic of my face shape bc I'm a minor so instead I attached a picture of my character from a game that I sculpted to look like me. It is not an accurate representation by all means but it should be able to provide a baseline.**

I have been using the low ponytail for years as a way to masculinize my face but I've been getting kinda bored and also started to feel like it doesn't cut it anymore. So after browsing google for the zillionth time and only finding pixie cuts or hairstyles that are giving homophobic football athlete, I have to ask for some help here.

The problem is I have a weird mix between an oval face and a squared jaw and most of the pixie or short-haired cuts would just end up softening my face instead of making it sharp. My eyebrows are relatively thick and a little arched, nose is pretty short imo and I have a freckles (+ acne scars). I'd say that forehead is somewhat medium-ish in length. For skintone I am actually not this pale and my hair is dark brown.
