Got side swiped by someone changing lanes without even checking, cops said it was his fault but man it still would've made everything so much easier if i had video proof instead of relying on witness statements and hoping the other guys story lines up with mine.

anyway lesson learned, actually shopping for a dash cam now. whats everyone running that they'd actually buy again? need decent night footage since a good chunk of my driving is early morning/evening, and would rather not deal with some crazy install process. budget is like 200-250, open to front+rear if its within that range

Ive been putting this off for way too long, finally wanna just get one and be done with it. looking for front + rear, budget's like $200-300 ish

mainly want it for the obvious stuff, insurance claims, someone merging into me for no reason, catching a hit and run in a parking lot etc. bonus points if it doubles as a backup cam or has decent night vision bc i drive a lot in the evenings

install is what's actually stopping me tbh, don't wanna mess with rewiring my whole dash. anyone done a clean setup on a prius? kinda curious if routing the rear cam wire is weird bc of the hatchback
