Hey! Does anybody know how reliable the bussing system is? I only have my G1, so I won't be driving while im at school. I heard there's a bus that goes right from the school to the store once a week. How does this work? Any help would be great Thanks!

Hey! I’m a first-year student entering a math program, and I have a Windows laptop. I’m looking for recommendations for a good note-taking app for university.

Ideally, I’d like something that **records the professor during class so I can go back and listen to the recording later**, while also being able to help organize or make sense of what was said.

Hello I am a domestic student and I am confused on how to pay. I tried the CIBC way but it says I need a void cheque, but I do not have one. Is there anybody I could just etransfer or somebody we can mail cash too?

How easy is it to get a ignite work study job as a first year student? Are these jobs actually worth it? when can I start to apply?

I am turning 18 this year and still don't have my G1. I have tried 4 times and have failed each time. I have a learning disability diagnosis and I have tried my best to study but nothing seems to be working. I have no problems getting good grades in school, but I cannot seem to pass this test. I am entering my first year of post-secondary school and I feel like an absolute failure because everybody else my age has their G2, when I don't even have my G1. I am limited on money b/c I lost my job in January and I have got to pay for school. Does anybody know if there are any supports to help me get my G1 or any advice?

Has anybody taken this? If so whats the placements like? Do you pick them or does the school pick them?

Hey! So I got how much i have to pay for tuition earlier, but I noticed its missing my meal plan and residence, does this mean OSAP has covered it? Also, I am suppose to be getting a scholarship from the University and i don't see that its been applied. If anybody can help that'd be great. Thank you!

Hey! I am trying to track how much everything will cost come the school year and was wondering where I buy textbooks and how I know which ones I need. I checked the campus store online and put in my student number and only one of them came up and it was under Follett Access and said that I didn't need to buy it unless if I opt out. If somebody could tell me what is up with this and where to actually find my textbooks?

Hey! I start my 1st year of university in September and I am getting OSAP. However, my school says fees are due August 15th, but my OSAP doesn't come in till September, so I am just a little confused. I tried contacting my school and nobody answered. I am really unsure as to how this works. Do I pay all of my fees out of pocket by the 15th or do I wait till OSAP comes in.

Im asking this for a friend, but we were wondering if anybody who stayed in Rodzik had pictures of their room. We looked online and we saw some, but were wanting different perspectives. Thank you

I have to have all of my fall payments by August 15th, but I heard you get paid monthly, whereas other sources told me it goes directly to your school. Can somebody please clear this up and explain how payments of OSAP work? Thank you

Hey! I'm entering my first year and will be living in Rodzik Hall. I have a single room but will be sharing a bathroom with one other person.

The university gave me my bathroom roommate's email, so I reached out on July 3 to introduce myself and try to get to know her before the school year started. I sent a follow-up email yesterday since I hadn't heard anything back, but I still haven't received a response. In my email, I included my phone number and Instagram and just said I wanted to connect before school started, coordinate move-in, and see what her thoughts were on decorating the bathroom and splitting the cost of shared bathroom items.

I went to Head Start, and the RAs recommended reaching out beforehand so we could coordinate these kinds of things. I'm starting to get a little upset because I still haven't heard anything at all, and I also couldn't find any social media accounts for her.

Is this pretty normal, or has anyone else had a roommate or bathroom mate who didn't respond until much closer to move-in?

I am a first year student going to York in the fall and had a few questions.

1. When and where do I find out who my roommate is?

2. Are there any upper year students who have completed their first year of the BSC psych and would be willing to tell me how it went? Like which courses to watch out for and which were easy.

3. How and what kind of food is there for residence students?

I understand that RH means Rodzik Hall but the rest I am unsure of. Also, I went to this virtual open house thing a while ago and they said only one room controls the AC, so I was wondering how do I know if I got this? I tried emailing residence and nobody replied to my email. Also, are the rental fridges worth to have?

Next, I am in con ed and I am deciding between media arts and business as my 2nd teachable, but I don't know which yet. Any courses you'd recommend? I picked ECON1100 and FILM1100 as my electives to help me decide which subject to do, but I'm realizing a lot of 2nd semester electives and 2nd year courses require elective classes I'm not in, so any advice here?

Also, I am an Ontario resident and I am trying to apply for my UWin card and I don't have a passport or drivers license. I only have student cards from my high school, my Ontario photo health card and birth certificate. I am not sure if I have the time to get my drivers license before school, so would they accept my forms of ID?
