Accidentally Took A Step Into Wet Cement Or Concrete With Sneakers?

Male and 40s. 5'8 155 pounds

I was walking on the street and noticed several workers that were near by who were wearing those orange work vests so they are doing work. As I walked by, my left foot stepped onto the wet cement or concrete. My sneakers had a good amount of it on it and some did get on my skin. I did use a hose and sprayed water on the skin areas with the wet cement or concrete and the outer parts of my sneakers. The thing is I did spray a bit where it got my socks a bit wet as well.

As I got home, I washed my foot area with soap and water. I put my wet socks inside each of my shoes. A bit later on, I then looked under my left sneaker and it seems a good amount of wet cement or concrete is stuck to the bottom of my sneakers. It's been like this for over 3 hours at least.

Someone at home with their bare hands helped and used a hose and sprayed water on both of my sneakers. That person took an old toothbrush to scrape the cement or concrete out of the bottom of the shoe as spraying water from the hose didn't seem to work. That person did spray from the hose again but did it in a way where it wouldn't surprise me if some of the wet cement got inside the shoe because they were not spraying it very carefully.

  1. I heard you can actually get a chemical burn from this if you leave the wet concrete or cement on your skin too long? Was this wet cement or concrete? I heard they are not the same thing. What I do know is the color of the wet cement or concrete was a light gray color similar to my sneaker color. I didn't notice the wet cement or concrete because it looked like the same color as the ground as I was walking
  2. Are my sneakers safe to wear after it dries? Most of the wet concrete and cement was on the outer area of the sneaker. The thing is that person that helped me spray with a hose to the shoes, he was shooting the hose everywhere so some small amount could have went inside the shoe. Is that a big issue? Such that you wearing the shoe can give you a burn later on? Do I need to use the hose to spray inside of it and then pour any water out? If so I need to do this soon? I heard some people say you have to sometimes throw your shoes or sneakers out but can someone tell me when you have to do this? Is it due to safety issues?
  3. Should I throw my socks out if it has any wet concrete or cement residue? I know that when I used a hose initially to spray my sneaker, I sprayed the back of my ankles a bit as well so that water definitely got inside my sneaker and got my socks yet. Can you get a chemical burn later on if you don't remove all the wet cement or concrete inside your sneakers and outside it?

Tonsil Stones?

I had tonsil stones when I was young and had no idea what it was back then. Usually what happens is I would cough it out and you see those white patches come out and they smell horrible. I notice that I would usually get these if I eat certain foods and don't crunch the food well. Back then I notice if I take a flashlight and open my mouth, I would see those white patches which are the tonsil stones. I don't think I ever have taken a cotton swab to take any of it out though.

Now if coughing it out doesn't work, I would intentionally try to throw up and gag to get it out. Usually I would be able to force it out by doing that. However, I have had no luck doing this at all. A few times I did this, I felt the tonsil stone in my throat but could not cough it out. Before this, I was able to cough out a very tiny bit of it but I know there is still a few big pieces left. I feel the tonsil stones when I swallow.

Besides intentionally trying to throw up, what are other ways I can cough it out? I read about salt water. So boil some water with salt and wait a bit. Pour it into a cup and then gargle it for 30 seconds without drinking anything? Then spit it out and keep doing that? Now if you do this and it works, does the tonsil stones usually find it's way to get loosen where you can cough it out... or it just goes down your throat and you swallow it? I read that swallowing tonsil stones is no issue.

Now if I still can't get the tonsil stones out, go to an ENT doctor? Will an ENT always be able to get those few tonsil stones out? The issue is when I use a flashlight with my phone to check, it isn't visible. But do they use a waterpik and that would work? Now when they do this, do they pull it out of your mouth or do you normally swallow it? I obviously prefer to have the tonsil stones pulled out of my mouth.

Has anyone here had tonsil stones stuck for months even? I think I might be approaching it now as it's still stuck in my throat.
