Just hit 700 wishlists after 2 days of our Demo going live!

First of all sorry for posting twice in a same week I am just little too exited : ]

And extremely thankful to everyone who tried out the Demo! :)

I’ve never seen this many wishlists on my games before. To be honest, I didn't think we'd ever get here after barely hitting 200 wishlists after months of the page being live.

If you want to check it out, here is the Steam page for the Demo of How Asian Parents went to School: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4619250/How_Asian_Parents_went_to_School_Demo/

Re-made the trailer for my Asian Parents co-op game after getting feedback here. Super thankful for the suggestions!

Just Re-Made the trailer and added it to the steam page next the the old trailer and release the Demo...

Super thankful for all the suggestions in the last post, You guys suggested I should have a trailer which explains a bit about the game and the old trailer was good but wasn't making the point of the game clear the what the game was about, so I made this small Trailer with some texts exactly telling the players what the game is so is this good enough ? and does it look good next to the main trailer on the page like it was supposed to be show like what the game is about where the first Trailer was supposed to show what the players gonna get in the game when they play it!

Is it worth launching an Itch.io demo if our multiplayer is hard-locked to Steamworks?

I’m launching the Steam demo for my 4-player co-op game, 'How Asian Parents Went to School', in literally a few hours (been working on it for 8 months now, losing my mind a bit lol).

Everyone always says you must upload your demo to Itch but my multiplayer relies entirely on Steam's network solution. If I put the build on Itch, the multiplayer just won't work unless they download it from Steam.

The game has a single-player option, but it's fundamentally built for co-op. I really don't want someone downloading a 3GB game on Itch expecting to play with friends, only to get hit with an error message saying they need Steam. That feels like a great way to tank my first impression.

Should I just skip Itch entirely and focus 100% on the Steam page? Or is it worth putting it on Itch anyway with a massive warning in the description (even though I know nobody reads descriptions)?

Added Jack in my indie game! (also this community is really awesome)

So I'm making this Funny rage co-op game about reaching school while psychopathic bear tries to eat you! called 'How Asian Parents went to School' and at the end of the each level I'm adding this graduation boards about my favorite Youtubers, and few days ago I mistakenly uploaded MoistCr1TiKaL art here in this sub-reddit and almost no one said anything until one really polite guy said "Are you sure you are in the right sub-reddit" and man I felt like this sub-reddit is really awesome and like really polite

so I am kind of embarrassed of doing something stupid like that but yeah here is Jack I added to my game and also again thanks of of you for not making joke of me lol this is really awesome community like jack : )

I am going to release my Game's Demo Soon but everyone is saying "they can't understand what's going on in Trailer" is trailer good enough ?

I am planning to upload the Demo for my co-op rage game but most of the comments and reviews are saying "IDK what's going on in the trailer but I love it" does this mean I need another trailer before the launch ? which makes more sense like with texts and stuff ?

After 6 years of failed prototypes, I’ve finally finished my dream project: "How Asian Parents went to School"

For a long time, I couldn't get a project across the finish line. I’d start, get frustrated, and move on. But after years of quitting, I finally pushed through and built this co-op game called 'How Asian Parents went to School'.

It’s been a massive journey getting this to a live Steam page, and I’m excited to finally share it. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to navigate the trials of school the way our parents described, here is the steam page link : https://store.steampowered.com/app/4154510/How_Asian_Parents_went_to_School/

I just hit 250 wishlists on 'How Asian Parents went to School' few days ago, and I'm super happy with the results : )

If you have any questions about marketing here is what I changed :

  • I updated all assets to better match the actual "vibe" and gameplay feel.
  • translated the page in all the languages the game is translated in (I do have more than 50% of the wishlists from outside of USA)
  • started posting on all the social media (even I wasn't seeing any results I kept posting)
  • changed the short description to be direct (instead of sounding like a lore I directly wrote the players what the game is about)

I’m still learning, so if you have any suggestions for the page, please drop them below! Also, wishlisting the game would be a huge help as I am about to launch the Demo in few days.
