Mals, he is not the sun. You are!

I made a similar comment today and thought of making a post. Maybe I am completely wrong but in no way I think she is a victim. My thoughts came from her involving her male trainer in her recent posts, stories.

At this point, it does not matter if there is anything going on between these two or not, I am confident they are just gaining engagement by such content. People are going to speculate. Mals gets more hype. Scami has lost followers and has almost nothing to post apart from her boring coffee pics and repetitive gym stories. So she needs something 'happening' to post.

But... The guy looks like a trainer and a micro content creator who is looking for more clients, online and offline. That means Scami's followers in india can be his potential clients. Even a shout out from Mals, he might gain some followers. India has huge population, his follower number will get a jump, if not real clients. Basically, I think he is using her reach more than she using his being white.

Something similar came to my mind while looking at the posts related to Panju's retreat in Kerala. I remember Bhiks and Akhil going on 'wellness vacation' in south india. That was not her vibe at all. She went because Akhil did, in those vacations also she sometimes used to make GRWM videos and chilling while Akhil went for meditation or something. I do not remember her actively doing anything in those places. I think Akhil wanted to enter this business for a long time and Mals had the perfect set of target audience that is young girls/ women. Look at the videos his retreat in Kerala has. Most of them are the same type people. I think Akhil saw this and used Mal for his reach. I am sure this retreat thing would have hyped a lot if it was promoted by in house influencer. I am sure Bhiklani gained more through Panjus and I am not saying Akhil did not love her or anything but he definitely could have gained from her being a content creator. One might say Akhil does not need this retreat gig at all. But that's not entirely true. Even having a successful start up career, he had to do those coffee meet ups. For what? Maybe not as a main source of income but as something on side, he could have used Malvika's influence.

Jake was not her provider/ white blue eyed boyfriend but her being his sister, editing her vlogs, definitely helped him more. I do not think he did any out of this world work, that gave him a boost.

Scami, if you are reading this, just think, you can do so much with the kind of following you have. Stop being desperate for providers. You are attracting people whom you are in a way providing.

Decreasing followers

So the new stories have arrived after thirst trap gym stories. The blame is on people. They are unfollowing her because she supported the protest. And people, if you are still following her, you are hard core and you love her. lol.

The person who judges people on what they drink is now saying, you need to learn to agree to disagree.

Also ended the story with self praising, how she is single parenting, dealing with loss of parents and shows everything without filters (sure!)

code switching and day care dislike

The community language is german, and it is the only language used at daycare. At home, my 2-year-old speaks a lot in our language (marathi) and communicates very well. She uses clear words, forms sentences, and can even express more complex ideas, misunderstandings, and conversations. What breaks my heart is that nobody can really understand her at daycare. The caregivers often tell us that she loves to talk and tries to tell them many things, but they don't understand what she is saying. I can't help but wonder if this is part of the reason she dislikes daycare. It must be frustrating for her to have so much to say and feel that nobody understands.

The caregivers tell us that she understands them very well, and recently she has even started speaking some German sentences with us at home. So we can see that she is learning and absorbing the language. Just yesterday, she was wearing a T-shirt that said "Bee Happy" with bees printed on it. She told me she was telling one of the caregivers that her shirt said "Bee Happy" and that there were bees on it. She seemed sad that they didn't respond to what she was saying. Of course, I understand that they simply couldn't understand her, but from her perspective it must have felt upsetting. She is also a child who loves books, storytelling, and chatting. She is not particularly interested in constant running, climbing, or adventurous physical play. She enjoys conversation and connection, so I sometimes wonder whether she becomes bored or lonely because she cannot communicate easily with the adults and children around her.

I have read a little about code-switching and the process of learning multiple languages. I understand that it can take time, and I know this is likely a normal part of bilingual language development. I just really hope that she gains confidence in German soon, so that she can fully express herself and feel understood at daycare. I am going down the spiral 'she would have enjoyed so much if it was the same language at home and day care.', which is not possible at all.

Just looking for some reassurance here. If anyone has been through same phase, please share your experiences.

Weird weird weird girl!!

I am facing a funny and weird situation. I am still laughing while typing this. So whenever I am at home with my girl and I open my hair or do anything other than a bun she insists that I should tie my hair. In the beginning, I used to say, I am combing my hair now or my hair are wet or something like that. It still kept happening. Then slowly she started throwing tantrums over it like it's such a big deal and she added that I should wear PJs all the time.

Then I considered this as a seriously matter and started telling her gently but firmly that, you get a choice what you want to wear, how you want to tie your hair. Similarly I am going to decide what I will wear etc. Then added, one can decide about self but can't tell others what to wear and all. I thought this is helpful. This reduced tantrums but they were still happening.

We went for a vacation last week. The whole vacation she didn't do a single thing with me except sleeping with me. I asked her today why did you want your dad all the time. I wanted to play with you, I wanted to eat ice creams with you. She said, because mama didn't wear home clothes and mama didn't tie her hair. I was puzzled 🤣 It's so dramatic.

We have seen a pattern. Even if she falls down or something and I have open hair or some fancy clothes she runs to her dad till I tie my hair. She sometimes gets up in the middle of night and while I feed her, she asks me, mummy have you tried your hair?? Sometimes when we are out and she is enjoying her time, she would come and ask me 'will you wear PJs once we are at home?'. As soon as I change to my PJs, she would say 'wow mama! I like you sooo much! You look so beautiful!'

What is this issue? What is causing this? How do I deal with the situation? For now, I am sticking to 'not your body, not your decision' thing and hoping that it's a phase.

Brand collabs/ deals

I follow one small time content creator. She was okay before but now all her content is brand deals and almost all of them are kids stuff. Her daughter is 4 I think and she gets atleast 2-3 deals in a month. She does not even have as much following. I see most of the influencers as soon as they have kids they get so many brands because kids and parents market is HUGE. Books, food, toys, cosmetics, clothes, everything. Not saying this is good. Brands are certainly using marketing to make parents buy more and more stuff.

But this made me realize Shitlani has not got no such brand deals. I did not follow her as much 1-2 years back. Did she get some when Abby was a baby? I remember something with Diaperpail but that's it.

I am sure if she has any such opportunity she would instantly take it. This makes me hopeful in a way. She has been called out a lot because of the stuff she says about motherhood and parenting. Are brands seeing this? I often wonder her personality is meh and hugely problematic. Her make up skills are very basic and copied from someone. Why is she getting brand deals but looks like not so much!

Toddler-friendly kids’ bookstores in Pune

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for places in Pune where I can peacefully browse through children’s books with my toddler before deciding to buy. I know I can get pretty much any book at ABC, but sometimes it’s nice to just sit down, flip through the pages, and enjoy the experience together—kind of like the bookstores I’ve seen abroad.

Crossword comes to mind, but I’m not sure if they have a good collection of Marathi books or if it’s toddler-friendly enough for a relaxed visit.

I have been to Pagdandi but not sure if they have children’s books.

Any recommendations for cozy, toddler-friendly spots with a good selection of kids’ books (Marathi and English) where we can hang out and browse? Thanks in advance! 😊
