QUIP Scene for Second Year Eng

Hey there, I was wondering if anyone has applied for QUIP positions in second year engineering and whether you got anything out of it? Should I wait for third year to apply?

The Silent Study Tool

Owla lives in your notepad and watches as you work through a practice problem. All it does is simply let you know when you've made a mistake. It works entirely in the background and the app is otherwise a regular notepad. Looking for feedback on how useful the product is, what pricing is reasonable, whether you would actually use it. It can be found at https://www.owla.study on an invite-code basis. Access is first come first serve.

How Do You Check Your Work?

I feel like every other practice question I answer has some stupid mistake I made three or four lines in, and then I end up submitting and getting it wrong, or I catch it in my double check and have to re-write the entire problem only to do the same thing again. Just frustrating af. Do you guys have a particular system you use? I hate to turn to ChatGPT because then it feels like I'm not really learning anything at all. I'm trying to develop a project that fixes this and I'm curious how others handle it or even run into this at all.

You know that feeling when you solve a problem and then realize you made a sign error halfway through the problem?

I started working on a study tool that passively checks your work as you write it to catch errors like these. I also felt that a lot of my own time studying was spent switching between my paper, taking a picture, sending it to chatgpt or claude and waiting for an answer, and then my flow just completely deteriorates. That's what I'm trying to solve. It's at a rough early stage and I mostly want to know if this is a problem other people have too, or if it's just me. If you do math/science by hand (works on Windows with a pen right now), I'd love a few people to try it and tell me what's useless about it (seriously, this probably needs a lot of trimming). Happy to just chat about the problem too.

Looking for Student Product Testers

Hey there,

I'm looking for a few design partners to test out a study tool for students I have been working on for early beta feedback. Currently only builds for Windows and is best used with a pen, which is why I'm posting here. No sign-up or credit card required, just DM for details!
