Which Tea Houses Will Be Open at EBC Along the Route?

Hi everyone,
I’ll be starting my Everest Base Camp trek on 1 July, entering the trail via Surke instead of flying to Lukla.
I’m planning my itinerary based on the availability of tea houses during the monsoon season. I’ve heard that most tea houses in Dingboche may be closed around this time, so I’m looking for advice from anyone who has been there recently.
Could you please let me know:
Which villages currently have tea houses open?
Where would you recommend staying each night from Surke to EBC and back?
Are there any sections where accommodation is limited due to the season?
I want to finalize my trekking schedule based on where I can realistically find accommodation.
Any recent updates or firsthand experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Everest Base Camp in July 2026 (By Road, No Flights) – Looking for Trekking Partners for a 17-Day Budget Adventure

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) in July 2026 and wanted to see if anyone would like to join or share advice.
Trip Overview
Dates: 01 July – 17 July 2026
Duration: 17 Days
Highest Point: Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
Starting Point: Kathmandu, Nepal
Approach: By road via Salleri (No Lukla flights)
Style: Independent trekking
No guide, no porter, no flights – just a pure Himalayan adventure
Budget-friendly / economical trip
Why July?
I know July isn’t the most popular season for EBC due to the monsoon. I’m aware of the challenges:
Rain and muddy trails
Cloud-covered mountain views
Leeches at lower elevations
Flight disruptions (which is one reason I’m avoiding flights altogether)
Unfortunately, this is the only time window available for me, so I’m embracing the experience rather than waiting for a “perfect” season.
Looking For
Trekking partners who may be interested in joining all or part of the journey
Advice from anyone who has completed EBC in July/August
Tips on gear, trail conditions, accommodation availability, and weather expectations
Any insights on road travel to/from Salleri during the monsoon
The mountains don’t care who you are—they care how badly you want it. This is a personal challenge and adventure for me, and I’d love to hear from anyone with experience or similar plans.
Feel free to comment or send me a DM.
Tour planned by: Vaibhav Vaidya
📅 Start: 01 July 2026
🏔️ Destination: Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
🌧️ Ready for rain, mud, clouds, and the real Himalayan experience!

Looking for a Female Local Companion in Kathmandu on 1 July

Hi girls,

I’ll be in Kathmandu on 1 July and am looking for a female local to hang out with and show me around the city.

I need to do some trekking gear shopping, visit a few sightseeing spots, explore the local culture, and check out the nightlife in the evening. I’ll cover food, transportation, and other expenses during the day.

I’m specifically looking for a female companion, so please don’t be offended if I don’t respond to offers from guys.

Everest Base Camp in July (By Road, No Flights) – Has Anyone Done It? Looking for Real Experiences & Advice

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to trek to Everest Base Camp in July 2026. I understand that July is considered one of the least favorable months due to the monsoon season, cloud cover, rain, muddy trails, and the possibility of leeches at lower elevations.
Unfortunately, this is the only time window I have available, so postponing isn’t an option.
A few details about my plan:
I will be traveling by road from Kathmandu (no Lukla flights).
I’m aware that mountain views may be limited.
My goal is primarily to experience the trek and reach EBC safely rather than chase perfect weather or photography opportunities.
I’m looking for genuine experiences from anyone who has done EBC in July or during the monsoon season.
Some questions:
How difficult was the trek compared to peak season?
How bad were the rain, clouds, and trail conditions?
Were leeches a major problem, and up to what altitude?
Did road travel to Salleri/Surke create any additional challenges?
Were teahouses operating normally?
Any gear or preparation tips that became essential during monsoon?
I would really appreciate honest feedback—both positive and negative. If you’ve completed EBC in July, what do you wish you had known before starting?
Thanks in advance!
