I built a mobile board game in Kathmandu because Monopoly streets nobody here knows

Always felt weird playing Monopoly with Varanasi and Brooklyn when you're sitting in Lalitpur. So I made Byapar. Same idea, property buying, trading, screwing over your friends but with actual Kathmandu places and local chance cards.

Also fixed the biggest problem with Monopoly: the game takes forever to finish. Mine finishes in 15 mins. You can finish before chiya arrives.

Also added multiplayer and voice chat but it is still glitchy at times. Working on it. Need people to try it out, give feedback and spread the word.

Limited Career opportunity for male aspiring male cabin crew

One of the biggest reasons many young people choose to leave Nepal isn't because they don't love their country it's because they don't have the opportunity to pursue the careers they dream of.

For aspiring male cabin crew, the situation is especially challenging. In Nepal's domestic aviation sector, opportunities are extremely limited. On the international side, there are only a couple of airlines that regularly recruit cabin crew, and because their fleets are relatively small, recruitment happens infrequently sometimes after long gaps.

As a result, many passionate and qualified individuals are left with two difficult choices: wait indefinitely for an opportunity or leave Nepal in search of a career elsewhere. Others end up working in fields they never envisioned for themselves, simply to earn a living.

This isn't about asking for special treatment. It's about hoping for a growing aviation industry that creates more opportunities for everyone based on their skills, dedication, and professionalism.

No one wants to leave their home, family, and country if they can build a fulfilling career here. Many leave because they feel they have no other realistic option.

I hope Nepal's aviation industry continues to grow with more airlines, larger fleets, and more career opportunities so future generations can chase their dreams without feeling they have to leave the country.

What are your thoughts on the future of aviation careers in Nepal?

Ghar Banauda Major Problem !

If you have built a house in Kathmandu, what was the biggest problem you faced?

As a civil engineer, I have seen these problems again and again:

Material time ma aaudaina.
Labor site ma aaudaina.
Engineer site ma aaudaina.
Thekedar le suru ma quote gareko price euta huncha, tara construction hudai jada price arko huncha.
Payment settlement garna garo.
Bill finalize garda price difference dherai dekhine.
Ani neighbor ko kich kich ta xadai cha. 😅

These small problems slowly become big stress for the client.

That is why I have been silently building a solution for this problem.

I built an Android app called [Construction Material Tracker](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.linuxuser9860.constructiontrackermobile)

You can think of it like a Karobar app, but specially made for construction projects.

With this app, you can manage:
✅ Materials
✅ Labor records
✅ Daily site photos
✅ Site issues
✅ Payments
✅ Vendor statements
✅ Work breakdown schedule
✅ File management
✅ Project collaboration with engineers, contractors, and clients

My main goal is simple:
Traditional construction needs to improve, and every client deserves transparency.

Right now, the app is available only on Android. I am planning for iOS too, but only after the app reaches around 5,000 downloads, because I want to properly validate the idea first.

Please give this app a try and share your honest feedback.

What feature should I improve?
What problem should I solve next?

Your feedback will really help me make this app better for homeowners, engineers, contractors, and everyone involved in construction.

I built a website documenting the timeline of the Nirmala Panta case

Dear all,

I have made an independent website on the case of Nirmala Panta using public information available.

Purpose is to put together the chronology of events, public information, developments, etc., in a way that is easily readable and updatable.

Website URL:

https://justicefornirmala.nepalwide.org/

The website also contains:
- A count of number of days since the incident
- Links of the sources cited in the timeline
- Form for visitors to inform about missing events, errors, dead links, or any other changes to be incorporated in the website.

It is an independent project and not linked to any group or campaign. It is an attempt to gather and document the information that is publicly available.

I would really appreciate your comments regarding anything missing or incorrect. Any suggestion for improvement in the website is also most welcome. All facts posted in the website are independently verified.

Why does switching to connectIPS require reselecting the bank, while the default fonepay option doesn't?

I noticed this across several Nepali mobile banking apps and wanted to understand if there's a technical reason behind it.

Here's what I observed:

Using the default transfer option (fonepay Direct):

- Recipient's bank is already selected.

- Account number is filled.

- Account holder's name is shown.

- You just enter the amount and transfer.

After switching to connectIPS:

- Account number stays.

- Account holder's name stays.

- But the recipient's bank is cleared, so you have to manually select it again.

(Attached screenshot for reference.)

On many banking apps, fonepay Direct starts charging Rs. 10 even for a Re. 1 transfer. connectIPS, on the other hand, is free for transfers below Rs. 500 and its fee typically tops out at Rs. 8.

Given that, it seems reasonable to ask why the lower-cost option requires additional user input.

So my question is:

- Is there a genuine technical limitation that prevents the app from retaining the bank when switching payment rails?

- Or is this simply how these apps have been designed?

I'm not accusing any bank or payment provider. I'm genuinely curious whether there's a technical, regulatory, or UX reason for this behavior.

Would love to hear from people working in banking, fintech, payment systems, or anyone who's noticed the same thing.

How do you get job in Nepal as a BBA student?

Hi, I'm a BBA student who wants to earn something to cover my expenses and get some work experience beforehand so I don't graduate empty-handed. Applied to more than 30 companies, and only 2 called for an interview. I make resumes as per experts' advice, following proper formats, and even taking help from AI. I don't know what am I doing wrong.

P.s. I only apply for jobs I am qualified for.

Air india flight to Kathmandu

Has anybody took the air India flight to Kathmandu before? Can you share how has the overall experience been with the airline? I saw air India was slightly cheaper as compared to other airlines with a layover in new delhi, I'm considering it but the internet reviews for the airline online has been quite bad so far.

Sano huda Cyber ma khelne game app

When I was small Naya Bus Park area ma hami cyber ma game khelna janthym. There, they used to have an app that had a ton of games ranging from Contra to Street Fighter to All the Sonic games to Metal Slug games - basically a huge list of games in the same app. Does anyone know the name of the app by any chance?

(Probably was an emulator, but can't remember the name, the cyber owner said the games came included in the app). (Edit - Was definitely not Miniclip or Flash Games either)
