Want Your Indie Game Played On a Stream?

yo

if you’ve got a game on itch or steam and you want it played on a stream read this post :))

I’ve been streaming smaller indie games for a while now, mainly to help devs get a few more eyes on their stuff. getting anyone to actually play your game is weirdly hard, especially if it’s still rough, buggy, unfinished, or just needs feedback before it gets shown to someone bigger and shinier.

that’s basically where i come in.

i’m not really looking for massive hits or super polished stuff. this is more for smaller devs, jam games, weird prototypes, rough gems, and projects that could use some actual attention instead of being thrown into the void.

the stream is casual. i’m not doing serious reviewer voice or acting like i’m IGN. i just play the games properly, chat shit, give thoughts, and try to be fair and have a laugh. if something is funny, cool, interesting, or a beautiful mess, there’s a decent chance we’ll come back to it later too.

how games get picked:

we spin a wheel to decide whose game goes next.

to enter the wheel, you need to be in chat when we’re picking games. if your game gets picked, you’re removed from the wheel for the rest of that stream so other people get a chance too. you can come back next stream and enter again, no problem.

i’d also really prefer you stay in chat while your game is being played. it makes the feedback way better, people can ask questions, and honestly i just enjoy talking to the dev while playing it.

also yeah, if you’re active in the community, showing up, helping people, chatting, and being part of the whole thing, i’m obviously going to favour that a bit. that’s kind of the point.

pretty much any genre is fine, even stuff i don’t normally play. i try to give all games a fair shot instead of opening them for five minutes and binning them.

only real rule: nothing anything super sexual, hateful, or anything that’s obviously going to cause Twitch problems.

you can submit without joining the Discord, but it’s way less likely to get played that way. the whole thing works better when people are in chat/Discord, talking about the games, giving thoughts, and helping each other out.

streaming today at 6pm GMT.
i usually stream on Fridays, and anouther week day.

it’ll be scuffed, but it’ll be a laugh.

i'll play your indie game on stream and it might actually help a bit

yo

short version: if youve got a game on itch or steam and you want it played on stream throw it at me

for a while now ive been streaming smaller indie games mostly just to help people get a bit more visibility because it is a pain in the arse getting anyone to play your game especially if its still rough or has a few bugs or just isnt fully there yet. thats kind of where i come in. im basically the middle man before you get it in front of someone bigger and shinier

i only really do smaller indie stuff though so dont expect me to suddenly be streaming massive indie hits. this is more for the game dev community and smaller projects that need eyes on them. the community is still pretty small but thats sort of the point. its a chill place to hang out get a few people looking at your game and maybe get some actual feedback instead of shouting into the void

the whole thing is pretty casual. im not some serious reviewer. i just play the games how i normally would and chat rubbish while doing it. if a game is sick or funny or a complete beautiful mess then we will probably come back to it later too. most of the time i prioritise games from people who are actually in chat or around in the discord unless ive said otherwise like if im doing a challenge stream or looking at jam entries or checking out a beta or something like that

also yeah if youre active in the community and youre showing up helping people out and being around then obviously ill probably show a bit of favouritism.

i usually stream around 6pm to 10pm gmt and i post a bit of notice before going live

pretty much any genre is fine. even stuff i dont usually play. i try to give games a fair shot instead of loading them up for five minutes then binning them. and if somethings a bit rough but you fix stuff before the next stream then yeah it can get bumped up

only real rule is dont send anything super sexual or anything thats obviously going to be a twitch problem

if you want to submit something then drop it below. you can do it without joining the discord if you really want but honestly its way less likely to get played that way because the whole point is more that people in stream chat and the discord can play it too talk about it and give thoughts and then everyone wins

game playtesting stream <3

This post was originally made by one of the community while I was away for a bit 😭 (https://www.reddit.com/r/IndieDev/comments/1sp44ct/i_want_to_playtest_your_game_on_my_stream/) but I’ve been back streaming again for the past couple weeks and wanted to properly reopen game submissions myself.

I stream indie games/playtest stuff over on MintMood and it’s way more of a chill community/playtesting/discussion thing than a big exposure or marketing opportunity. Usually around 8–15 people hanging out, talking about the game, mechanics, art, balance, bugs, funny moments, etc. I try to give as much honest feedback as I can while playing.

We pick the next game by spinning a wheel, though newer people usually get priority since we don’t get flooded with submissions or anything haha.

If you’d like your game played on stream then come on by and hang out! We want you in chat while we play, makes it a lot easier to talk about it and anything that comes up :P

You’ll need:

  • If your game costs, I’d like a free version please, so gimme keys
  • Anything specific you want feedback on
  • Anything you DON’T want feedback on yet (I can be a lil critical on trailers for some reason lmao)
  • Any known bugs/issues I should know about beforehand

I usually like playing games and talking about how it’s made with the people who made it and testing out different and new ways of doing things. Pretty much into any genre other than visual novels (cos of my dyslexia) :)

The streams are mostly just about hanging out, discovering cool projects, and talking game design with people while we play through things live.

Would love some more games for the wheel ^_^

My next stream is TODAY (wha?! lucky for u) at 6 pm GMT and I always stream at that time at least once a week.

Stream:
https://www.twitch.tv/mintmoood

Discord:
https://discord.gg/GdwCU8c2C5

On this Discord I post stream times and any changes to the schedule. Sometimes life gets a bit hectic, and you can connect with your fellow devs too post your game ask for feeback and get noted when a stream is planned or going to start soon:)
