F29/ Punjab/ looking for a forever match to live out our lives peacefully and with love!

Hello everyone! Looking at the subreddit, it sounds more so based in south india, still thought no harm in giving it a try.

Age - I'm 29, don't have any strict age restrictions for the guy, maturity and compatibility matters more than age.

Religion- I'm sikh, family would prefer sikh guy, but would be open to hindus too, what matters is being respectful and compatible about how much we want religion and culture to influence our lives.

Family- single girl child, widowed mum. Understand family relations, would be open to any kind of family dynamics, but personally would think of it as a plus point if the guy has a loving family excited to love me as a daughter. Would also like a guy to think of my mum as his.

Profession- I have completed my mbbs, hit me up for a better discussion about career. My preference would be someone who is not a doctor, but even if someone is one, it's not a deal breaker.

Looks - I'm 5'1", on the chubby side, but actively going to the gym, lost around 10kg this year, hoping for more in the time to come, people say I have a sweet smile and kind eyes, have been compared to a teddy bear. I don't have any looks/ height expectations from my guy, although I do feel more attracted to men who take care of their clothes, look, hygiene. Strong believer of " we can't change what God gave us but that doesn't stop us from having a sense of style"

Hobbies- motsly an introverted indoor animal, love reading books, love cooking, likes travelling, on my way to becoming a fitness enthusiast. From my guy- I think I would not be compatible with someone who wants to travel all the time, more of a one vacation a year kinda person. Other than that, I'm a good listener and any hobbies my guy may have would be accepted with love.

Salary- not working right now but with my profession ( can talk in dms) I'll be making at least 1lpm, so from the guy anything around that same range is acceptable. What I care more about is that my lifestyle has been such that I have never done household chores( other than my hostel stay), so I can't be the one responsible for it all, ofc if something needs to be done, I'll work with the family, but I want someone whose family already doesn't live with the expectation that bahu will do it all.

Lifestyle - I don't smoke, I'm a non vegetarian, I drink like once a year with one particular friend. From my guy- smoking is non negotiable, I don't support that. Alcohol is okay unless it's inhibitory to lifestyle, vegetarian/ non vegetarian doesn't matter.

Match expectation- I would prefer to date for atleast a year before we move towards marriage plans, can shift anywhere in punjab but would prefer area near chandigarh- I live in a city near chandigarh.

I have had last relationships, completely over them, I don't have any preference one way or another about my guy's past. The guy should be ready for lots of very practical conversations, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I'm very romantic and would put mutual love over everything else. I'm a believer that the world is too cruel, and it's always good to find someone who is genuinely nice and genuinely want to build a simple beautiful life.

Just an arrow in the dark, let's see if its from cupid.

29f, indian, going through something so would like to chat, just to feel less emotional burden.

Hello everybody. Basically I could use to chat with someone, anyone, any age, male or female doesn't matter. I'm a good listener, so would definitely listen to what you wanna share, but I'm afraid my post is motivated by something that happened in my life today, I have no one I can share it with right now, so most probably you will be listening to me babble on about some stuff too.

Alot of my issue has indian cultural context, so I would prefer someone who is willing to bend their preconceived notions to understand that where I live, right and wrong may be very different from where they live. Isn't that what we all want at the end? A friend who understands?

Just read a post from few hours ago about a guy whose sister ran away. There was so much pain in that post, especially from the mom.

It reminded me of similar stories from my life too, I have seen so many stories of girls, who run away with boys, generally of much weaker economical background than the girl. Also, i understand that there are many girls who face abuse by their families, I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about those, who have really great, loving families, no pressure for marriage, get everything they want from their parents, and still they end up doing it.

What are we missing? Why are our young girls doing this? Spoiling their perfectly good lives for good for nothing men who in most cases just end up abusing and leaving them. Do you guys know of any such girl? Has any one of you ever faced such a situation yourself? How do you think we can protect our girls from such things?
