I go back to work next week and currently have my 3 month old enrolled in a daycare in my neighborhood. The location is very convenient, but I’m just not jazzed on leaving my baby anywhere right now. He’s just so brand new!
I have put out some feelers on a nanny hiring website and have been messaged by 2 care providers that they have a child of their own and looking for a family that is comfortable with their kid joining them. Both nannys have positive reviews and mention how their kids are sweet. One nanny has a 5 year old and the other has an 18 month old.
I’m curious what other people have experienced with this kind of arrangement?
My husband (37m) and I (34f) are considering moving to Galveston. My parents live in Tiki Island and my siblings and cousins live in League City, so we like the idea of being close to family! We like the East End, as we like the option to walk to dining and entertainment. The houses are gorgeous, too. My stepson is 11, and my husband and I have an infant. My husband and I’s careers are flexible as far as where we live, so working won’5 be a challenge.
I’m curious what it’s like to live on the island for young families like ours. My parents friends warned us that the island is mostly older retired people, and I’m curious if that’s true?
