How did your kid handle their first day of kindergarten?
My child is starting soon and I’m probably more nervous than they are.
I keep wondering how they’ll adjust being away from home for that long.
For those who’ve been through it, how did the first few days go?
I know this sounds gatekeepy and I swear I'm not trying to be that person. But there's something about finding a really unique fragrance that feels like it was made just for you, only to smell it on every other person at the grocery store six months later. Polo 67 is the most recent example for me. Objectively it smells great. I can't even point to anything wrong with it. But because it's everywhere now, I've completely gone off it. My brain just registers it as generic cologne smell instead of the nice scent it actually is.
I think part of it is that fragrance is so personal. When a scent goes mainstream, it loses that little bubble of privacy around it. I'm not saying people shouldn't wear what they like. Wear whatever makes you happy. I'm just curious if anyone else feels that little twinge of disappointment when something you loved blows up. Or am I just being weird about this?
Also kind of related but does this happen with candles for anyone else? I feel like once a candle scent gets pumped into every home goods store it stops feeling special. Curious to hear other thoughts.
I just accepted a job in another state and need to move in a couple of months. It sounded great at first, but now I'm stressing about what to do with my house on top of everything else. The place is in good shape, so I could list it the usual way, but I don't have time for showings, negotiations, and waiting on financing. I've been looking into cash buyers like RevivalHomebuyer as a faster option, but I'm worried about leaving money on the table.
If you've gone through this, what worked for you? Did you prioritize speed or try to hold out for a better price?
we are moving from the chicago suburbs to phoenix in late may, it's me, my wife, two kids, one dog, one cat, a moving truck, and two cars. we already booked flights because doing the whole drive with kids and pets in the summer sounds miserable, but now we haven't yet decided what to do with the 2nd car. we are thinking about shipping it and just having it arrive a few days after us.
can someone recommend any shipping companies they've used and trust?
I own a small pressure washing and exterior cleaning company in a fairly competitive city. For the last couple of years I’ve been trying to grow through Google but it’s been tough. My Google Business Profile is active, I get some reviews, and I post regularly, but the phone just isn’t ringing like it used to.
A few months ago I decided to stop trying to do everything myself and signed up with marketing 1on1 SEO Company on one of their monthly plans. They’ve been handling my local citations, on-page optimisation, Google Business Profile management, and some content work.
So far the results have been pretty decent, I’m getting more calls each week and my map pack position has improved for several important keywords.
I’m curious to hear from other small business owners who have tried a monthly SEO service.
How much are you paying per month?
What kind of results have you seen so far (more calls, website traffic, map pack ranking)?
How long did it take before you noticed a real difference?
Would you recommend it or do you think it’s better to keep doing SEO in-house?
i’ve been shopping at both lately and i still can’t decide which one i like more.
lidl feels a bit more “polished” to me, but aldi sometimes has better prices on basics. then again, lidl bakery is hard to beat.
curious what others think - if you had to pick one as your main store, which would it be and why?
