Combo so goated I had to do it again. ✨😉

Just that I've used a berry colour this time instead of maroon.😁

Also this is officially the "best cuticle work + best polish application without clean-up brush" I've ever done so I'm praising myself shamelessly.🫣

Did a skittle with polishes of the same brand.

Colours might not be much cohesive, but I'm liking the skittle. 😁🫶🏽

There's currently 85-90% humidity where I live so I can't escape the bubble situation, but at least the top coat never creates bubbles.🙂‍↕️

I don't how I feel about this. Glad that it's just a franken.😂

Yeeeaaaah, got humbled real quick and got reminded of my decision of not buying browns (because they make it look like my hands are just skin, devoid of nails!!) I know, it looks almost pencil-lead grey in pictures, but it's kinda muddy, mauvy brown irl.🥲😭

Flakies are saving the mani through and through, and the matte effect definitely improved it a bit.🙂‍↕️

Also, toooo many pictures for a mani I'm hate-keeping, right?! 💀

Y'all enjoy (maybe judge tf out of me lol) while I think of my next mani XD

Only pic 7 is under natural light, remaining are in indoor light.

I'm shooketh at how much I have improved in painting with my non-dominant hand😅 No cleanup brush was used hehe 🙂‍↕️

Pic 3 : All of the manis in July. Full of cool-toned colours lol

Pic 4 : Completed the entire tracker page 🥳

For all my fellow dark beauties.

I've noticed there's an overall lack of dark-skinned nailpolish enthusiasts. If it's because of fear of other people downvoting your nail posts, I get you. I see you. If it's because you guys are not sure about colours that will suit you, I hear you.

I have my fair share of downvotes in the main Indian nail sub which I'm very sure why. There were unsolicited advices on how I should improve my uneven skintone, and what colours I should wear, too. Finally I chose to prioritise myself and my peace and left that sub for good. Now I post in a different worldwide sub whose people have embraced me like I'm one of them. We just need to find the right people to surround us, both online and offline.

(I might get downvotes here as well, because how dare a dark woman be confident in her own skin, right? But I've found this sub to be the most inclusive thus I'm trusting the people here. 🫶🏽)

To all my fellow dark beauties, just start with a good pastel shade if you're really confused. Trust me, light contrasting colours look real good on dark hands. Also, you can go for jewel tones like gold, rose gold, silver, etc. and sparkly stuff like multichromes and shimmers. Take full advantage of your rich skintone, girlies! I even understand if some of you want to wear dark, vampy colours, those look good too!

Lastly, please don't let others decide what polish colours you "should" wear. That decision SHOULD be made by you and only you. Okay?☺️

Polishes used :

  1. Renée Cosmetics base coat

  2. Mars Cosmic Hues - Space 38

  3. Essence Colour Shield top coat

Kinda Opal....?!!

But whatever, I LOVE this combo 🤩🤌🏽

Just a periwinkle polish, topped with an iridescent flakie topper ✨

What will I do when I eventually run out of the flakie toppers I own 🥲 The fill line of all the unicorn toppers is almost halfway, and it seems like the brand is planning to shut down 🫠

I'm an elegant lady now. XD

Someone in this sub said they like combining warm and cool nail colours and added something about wearing mint with some warm toned topper which eventually became their favourite. I quietly stole the idea and oh my f***ing goodness🫪🫡🤌🏽

EDIT : Found them!! It was u/pitchblaca ! Imma just say I love you🫶🏽

Never been so elegant in my whole nail journey ever lmfao. 🫣☺️

Oh, and this sage green is that one franken I made some months ago, topped with a gold flakie.🤍

3 & 4 : artificial light

May-June empties.

Love Pans :-

  1. Bioderma Sebium Gel Moussant facewash : Absolute gem in keeping face acne free. I used this every night as my 2nd cleanser, and post-expiry I finished the remaining as bodywash. It also did a great job in reducing bumps from body skin🫣 10/10 MRP when I'll be less broke

  2. Joy Revivify pH 5.5 Gel facewash : Totally the affordable dupe of Simple Micellar gel facewash with a little fragrance. It cleans the face thoroughly, washes off without leaving soapy residue. 10/10 WRP

  3. Mars Euro Nails shade 40 (top coat) : My secondmost favourite among all the top coats I own. BEST in the affordable category. Dries quickly and doesn't give bubbles. This is my second empty. 10/10 WRP🤌🏽

  4. Renée Cosmetics Base Coat : I know I know, it looks like there's still something inside, but it's just my own nude polish I DIY-ed inside the empty bottle. Coming to the review - literally the only base coat I use. Dries quickly, prevents stains. 10/10 WRP

Like Pans :-

  1. Selsun selenium sulphide anti-dandruff shampoo : Nice one. Removes dandruff at the third use. 8/10 WNRP right now because I'm using another anti-dandruff shampoo

  2. Dove Intense Repair conditioner : Nice one, gives decent slip to hair. Maa loves it though, she used most of it haha. 9/10 WRP for maa

Meh Pan :-

  1. Biotique Bio Soya Protein shampoo : These chhotu samples come with the Biotique hair colour. Too moisturising for my liking, so I used this only on strands and never on scalp. 6/10 WNRP but I'm gonna finish the samples.

A combo unique to me...?!

This maroon polish is the exact same one from my previous mani, but how the maroon looks sooo cool-toned under blue flakies (and how it looked sooo warm-toned under gold flakies) is pretty mind-blowing to me.🥹🫶🏽

Also I've finally realised that flakies can be photographed to its full potential under indirect light (or under shade while outside).✨

Accidental chilli flakes lmaooo. 🌶️

Capturing flakies in their full glory is hard. 😓

I'd loved it a bit more if the effect was more matte instead of satin-y. 😅

Totally chilli flake vibes heh. 🌶️

Franken no. 2 is a massive success🤩

I stated in my previous post that I regretted buying a polish for the first time... That polish is a mauvy nude very similar to my natural nail colour, but turns yellow-brown when any top coat is applied over it. I can't even declutter or give that polish away, so I was thinking of other ways to use it up.

And what did I end up doing? Frankening. 😌

In a fresh empty bottle, I poured a clear polish upto almost 40% of the bottle. Then I poured 12-13 drops of that nude polish. What did I see? The solution turned yellow-brown.

Then came my masterstroke. Adding a bit of purple polish to cancel the yellow😆 Added 4 drops. Mixed vigorously. Aaaand voila!

I GOT MY PERFECT NUDE WHICH DOESN'T TURN YELLOW ANYMOREEEE.🎉 AND IT'S 95% MY NAIL COLOUR. I AM SO HAPPY I'M GONNA CRY

Also, french tips with just polish brush strike again😂

Probably the biggest nail haul I've ever had. I have a problem, I know. 🥹

  1. Nykaa Glitter Nail Enamel : Cinderella Feels 463 and Super LIT 459. Cinderella Feels has fine pink glitters in light blue base. Super LIT has blown my mind how freaking pretty it is🤩 It has fine blue glitters in milky white base.
  2. Beromt normal flakie toppers : BNP 204 (green), BNP 205 (multicolour), BNP 206 (orange-ish gold). 206 is my favourite among these🤌🏽
  3. Kinded nail paint : Pastel Cobalt Blue 17 and Pastel Nude 20. Both crémes. I kinda have a feeling that pastel nude is gonna be MY nude.🤞🏽
  4. Essence Colour Shield top coat : Another good top coat in my collection yay😁

Love Pans :-

  1. Colorbar nail polish remover : I don't think I need to explain how BOMB this is. 10/10 absolutely WRP
  2. Love Beauty and Planet Argan Oil Lavender hair mask : My hair looooves this. This is probably my 3rd empty. 10/10 definitely WRP
  3. L'Oreal Paris 6 Oil Nourish Rapid Reviver conditioner : My favourite conditioner till date, which I have probably emptied 4 times. I want to try the red variant someday. 10/10 WRP

Like Pans :-

  1. Chemist At Play 4% Lactic Acid body wash : This has worked decent in reducing the little bumps on my upper arm and butt😅 8/10 WRP after I finish up some other bodywashes / expired facewashes on body.
  2. Local nail polish remover : Bought it from a fair, it's a decent one for ₹40. 8/10 WRP
  3. Set Wet Charm Avatar deo : Fragrance is fresh/aquatic, summery. 8/10 MRP

Meh Pan :-

  1. Nykaa Naturals Onion Fenugreek shampoo : Too moisturising for my liking. Since I have oily scalp and dry ends, I only used this on hair strands. About ¼ was left when I finally decided to finish it as handwash. 6/10 WNRP

The nailbreak in April made me real sad.💔

Also, this is the very first time I'm regretting buying a polish. What happens is : It's the perfect mauve-y nude closest to my natural nail colour, great opacity and self-levelling, BUT it turns yellowish when any brand of top coat is applied.🥲 Currently thinking of ways to use that polish up (leaning towards frankening something with it), and my quest of finding my perfect nude continues.

A bit of a good news : that cookie crumble minty polish is a gift from a cousin.🥰

Finally, I've came to the conclusion that I LOVE muted créme polishes the most, eg. this muted pink🤌🏽
