The 500th episode is horrendous

Besides some nice cameos of the former generation, the Frankie racism storyline did not need to plague the reunion episode.

It is extremely unrealistic that the faculty would be ok with them doing the protest in the biggest event of the year, they would’ve just told them to go home and they could’ve it done it another day.

Lola jumping from pro-protest to anti-protest back to pro-protest was a waste of screentime that could’ve been served for something else.

Another thing I heavily dislike: how Peter & Sav were quick to dip at the quickest inconvenience. All this as a plot device to further push Frankie into wanting to run away. Same as the Mo dipping after one comment from Tristan.

I feel like a lot of the decisions made this episode and the need to sideline all the older generations and make them simple cameos were just made to garner Frankie’s storyline. It felt like a bunch of Easter eggs thrown in a normal Degrassi episode when it could’ve been something much much more epic.

Mother & Child Reunion is a wonderful example of how this episode could’ve been, it genuinely could’ve been Plot A: much less of the the current class’ storyline & Plot B: more of the older class’ storylines.

I’m heavily disappointed as I am rewatching the episode.

Season 2 is a masterpiece.

I’m rewatching Season 2 and frankly, I know that a lot of people had an issue with the entire season taking place at the farm, particularly because it was way shorter in the comics. However, I think the season benefitted heavily from that.

  1. Every character (with the exception of Patricia & Jimmy) were developed so well throughout season 2. Especially Rick & Shane.

  2. There was more time to fall in love with the beginning of Glenn & Maggie.

  3. Dale is a favorite. In this season, he was solidified as the moral compass as the group this season and it was a shame that he didn’t make it to season 3.

  4. The farm has its own aesthetic & mood that remained consistent throughout the season and the tension built up so well.

Yes, there was filler episodes. “Cherokee Rose” for example, and even a lot of “Chupacabra,” however these are slower moments that was needed to help us engage more with these characters & it had its own purpose.

For a show that struggles with slow pacing and filler, it feels like they put so much effort to make this a gratifying drama, regardless of the obviously limited budget they had this season. And the team genuinely felt like a family by the end of this season, I just wish Mazzara did not screw up by killing off of too many of these characters in Season 3, there was a lot of room to watch them grow even further.

I have a really good feeling about Dead City Season 3.

I’ve been going down a rabbit hole looking at all the reviews of Season 3, the comic con panel, the teasers, and even the clips that surfaced online. And honestly, I’m quite optimistic.

Jeffrey commented on how he felt like him and Maggie’s journey has been so repetitive in the first two seasons and that this season felt really refreshing, to see Maggie smile for the first time in “10 years.” Also, I like that they’re giving so much spotlight to the new characters, it’s giving me the feeling that Seth wrote them with care and not as nobodies that might be developed and then die quick for shock value (which is a trend I’ve noticed throughout all the spin offs’ recent seasons).

So far the cast seems content with this season, much more than the previous seasons, Seth seems to be so passionate and happy and said that fans who love OG walking dead, he hopes will enjoy this season.

And they’re really hyping Dillard up, I think he is going to be a great character.

I’m excited. Can’t wait.

This is the beautiful song that played before *that* scene in Episode 9

It was stuck in my head so I had to track down what the song is called. Such a nice song
