Are you looking for startup accountant?

Hi

I am a startup accountant based in Uk and work with various founders if you have just started your company and need a strategic partner not only just another accountant. Please get in touch. I work on monthly payment so it avoids one off lump sum payment at year end and also gives you more visibility of your finances. If you also need seis/eis , pitch deck, cash flow projections etc Can help at founder friendly fees.

Thanks

Pricing

Hi everyone just few months into my own practice and having issues with pricing. Any tips how to tackle this as most of the clients don’t want to pay more than £500-£700 for a small Ltd company with payroll and no vat.

Accounts production and tax software

Hi

Which accounts production and tax software is good and affordable for someone starting and not having more than 10 clients and is not super expensive when you increase clients from 10 to 30 or 50

Thanks

New accounting practice - part 1

Hi everyone I have recently started my own accountancy practice I already had few clients from before I use to hustle who use to pay whenever but I want to put things in place. When do you expect the clients to pay for services in case of one off services.

Also what all documents do you request during onboarding services apart from client information and engagement letter and what do use to do aml check and id verification check

Thanks

Accountant’s Certificate

Hi everyone,
I’d appreciate some views on an accountant’s certificate for a mortgage application.
I’ve been approached by a prospective client who started trading as a franchise owner around February 2026. They have asked me to complete an accountant’s certificate required by their lender. They are also looking for an accountant to prepare their accounts going forward.
The certificate requires confirmation of projected turnover, profit and drawings/salary/dividends, together with declarations that the business is solvent and trading.
At present:
I have not acted for the client previously.
No figures have been provided on the certificate.
I have not yet reviewed any bookkeeping or management accounts.
My initial thought is to ask the client to complete the financial sections of the form and provide supporting evidence (management accounts, bank statements, commission statements, business plan/projections etc.), then decide whether I have sufficient evidence to sign after completing AML and onboarding.
Would you take the same approach? Is there anything else you’d request or any ICAEW guidance you’d particularly consider before deciding whether to sign?
Thanks in advance.

Looking to work with a few London-based female founders 🚀

Hi everyone,

I’m a Chartered Accountant based in London and I run my own advisory practice.

I’m particularly interested in working with women building businesses because I’ve realised many founders don’t just need someone to file accounts, they need someone they can actually ask questions without feeling judged.

Whether it’s:
-choosing the right business structure,
-understanding tax,
-cash flow,
-VAT,
-paying yourself,
or just making sense of the financial side of running a business.

For the next few months, I’m taking on a small number of early-stage female founders on founder-friendly fees while I continue growing this side of the practice.

No sales pitch,I genuinely enjoy helping founders understand the financial side of their businesses before small issues become expensive ones.

If you’re based in London and would like an informal chat, feel free to comment or send me a message.
I’d also love to hear what the biggest financial challenge in your business is right now.

UK accountants: how did you get your first 10 clients?

I recently started my own accountancy practice after working in larger firms, and I’m finding client acquisition much harder than I expected.
Delivering the work doesn’t worry me,finding clients consistently does.
So I’d love to hear from accountants who have built their own firms:
• How did you get your first 10 clients?
• Which channels actually worked for you?
• What would you stop doing if you were starting again?
• How long did it take before you had a steady pipeline?
I’ve been trying networking events, LinkedIn content and asking for referrals, but I’m still figuring out what works best.
Any honest advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone

I have been to few free property course events. I just want to understand from people here are they worth it. And if some if them are is it possible to get the recorded video from someone who has already used it as I am just starting out and keen to learn.

Thanks
