Vegan lashes/clusters

No tea and no shade whatsoever, I am not crazy about normal false lashes for my personal preference.

Any recommendations for brands that are vegan/CF? I’d like to try clusters if possible.

I’m also looking for tips on how to make them look good/last longer since I am a total lash newbie. I’ve heard vegan lashes work a little differently, so maybe there is a technique to it.

I’ve only had my lashes done a few times for events/as a bridesmaid and I thought they looked great, but I would prefer to only explore vegan/CF options for myself moving forward.

Thanks!

The Other Bennet Sister-coded shows/films

I just saw the first few episodes and I love it!

Looking for the following themes/vibes:

Period drama
Romance
Coming of age or glow up
Awkward main character

I loved pride and prejudice (obviously), sanditon, and Bridgerton for the same reasons (historical and/or fantasy aspect + romance and coming of age drama).

Bonus points if it’s as cute and sweet as The Other Bennet Sister (think Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in that sense).

Thanks!

Bridal artists - do you do other types of glam?

Do you just do weddings? Or maybe other events (quinceañeras, etc).

Do your brides ever ask you to glam them for a night out on another occasion? I know the economy sucks right now so that last bit is probably a stretch, but you never know!

Or do you mainly focus on bridal?

What products have you depotted successfully & was it worth it?

What would you never depot again (bc of damaged product/ mess/ inconvenience)?

If you are an MUA, what did you do for your personal kit vs your pro kit?

I don’t like bulky packaging, and I don’t want to destroy my makeup if it can’t really be depotted!

I didn’t include any products here bc I have so many I’m thinking of depotting (several Nyx Butta blushes, many highlighters and shadows from various brands, etc).

Thanks!

Just like the title says, I’m trying to create a TT/Insta for my MUA business. I’m just starting out.

I’ve never really been into social media, I have account but normally I’m just a doom scroller lol.

Can anyone recommend any tips/resources/accounts to follow to help me?

Here is what I have so far:

- An idea of the image of the business (bridal and glam)
- The style/type of content I want to make (informative but lighthearted/silly, not too serious and stuffy but still professional)
- The types of looks I would like to offer my clients

Here is what I need help with

- Filming content/ Taking photos for my portfolio & socials (I’m so bad at this literally any tips will help)
- How to set up lighting and camera angles for home and mobile content creation (at home lighting vs mobile setup)
- how to structure posts (text/reels/picture posts)
- when/how often to post

I’m such a loser please help!

I’m looking for upbeat and happy options like

- Sex and the City (there will never be anything like it lol)
- Marvelous Mrs Maisel
- Leap Year
- Ted Lasso (not romance but super sweet and lots to romantics plotlines, so I will include jt!)

Bittersweet/sometimes happy

- Call the midwife
- North and South
- Downton Abbey
- Outlander
- Modern Love
- Girls (this one wrecked me lol)
- Brooklyn

It could be modern or historical fiction! Shows or movies.

Let me know if it’s sad or happy so I know when to ruin my day

Thank you!

Do you use more than one brand/type of foundation, or is it all the same formula?

I saw a bridal MUA with literally 3 bottles of the Estée Lauder double wear (literally just a light, a medium olive, and a medium deep tone). This seems silly to me, because what happens when a bridesmaid doesn’t match one of the three shades (even mixed with corrector).

I thought about doing one lightweight tinted moisturizer (like hourglass, something nice for photos) and then something more high coverage (that I can sheer out to a medium cover if needed, I find that the hourglass tint isn’t buildable enough for this).

Also I see some MUAs buy every shade of a foundation for their kit, and others just buy a few shades from each part of the range and mix/color correct from here. (A few cool/neutral/warm from the light-medium-deep shades, for example).

I live in a place where many brides might be olive toned or light skinned. That being said, I refuse to be underprepared for deep toned complexion clients, it would be so embarrassing if a pro MUA didn’t have the right shade!

So my question is: which foundation(s), which shade(s), and why did you choose it?

Im looking to make content for my business and I want it to be available in multiple languages (because I speak several languages fluently).

Can anyone provide some tips on how to structure my content for instagram and TT so that I can personally localize/translate the content or I can maximize the automatic translation (this is less ideal obviously) on these platforms.

I’m asking about voice overs, captions, and in-video texts, specifically.

Thank you!

I’m taking a Bridal MUA course this summer. I have no pro experience but I’m hoping to get into glam & bridal glam.

I barely use social media and I rarely post pictures of myself. I’m worried that if I don’t post videos/pics of myself that it won’t have the right effect and would make me seem less legit/professional.

I’m thinking that I could focus on finding models to show my portfolio on insta/TT, and if needed do voice overs? Although I’m not convinced voiceovers would improve the content in that sense.

I know it’s really important to have an online portfolio to attract clients, I just really don’t feel comfortable using my own face for everything.

Also if anyone could help me understand how to get content from gigs, I would appreciate it. I’ve heard some MUAs make it a part of the service contract (as in, it’s a required feature of the service regardless of the clients wishes). I’m not sure how I feel about that (given the fact that I don’t want to use my own face, why would I insist someone else do the same?).

It’s hard to judge how important using my own face is for branding in this industry, since it seems like so many MUAs are also influencers who wear multiple hats. Social media just isn’t my thing.

I have been a bridesmaid in a few weddings recently and I don’t think anyone took my photo or anything, maybe just the bride.

Constructive feedback is welcome. Thank you!
