Recent Experience Edmonton Service Canada

Just wanted to summarize my experience getting passport renewal + name change for anyone who needs insight for upcoming passport services.

My passport expires in November but I recently did a name change, as well. My travel is September 12th.

On August 14th, I looked online and it said 20 business days and can just go to a regular Service Canada office. So, I went down to the Westlink Plaza office at 8:25am (it opens at 8:30) and there was already a large queue outside waiting to be let in. Probably 20-30 people deep. As soon as I went inside, there was a line host/triage person who was asking people their travel dates. When I told her September 12th, she said I would not get it in time because its 20 business days + 5 days for mail. Oops.

So, she sent me to the downtown location Service Canada office. I arrived there at 9:15am and there was already a full queue inside + 40-50 people waiting in the hallway. Once again, a line host/triage person was walking the queue and encouraging people to leave the line if they were open to waiting 20 business days and getting it by mail. Quite a few people left to go to the regular Service Canada location down the hall. The line host also explained that *Fridays and Mondays are their busiest days and the wait time would be about 2-3 hours*

It took approximately 40 minutes for me to get from the hallway line into the passport review line. I waited in the passport review line for another 45 minutes and then I waited to actually see a processing agent for another 30 minutes. My passport review took less than 5 minutes and he told me to come back on August 28th to pick it up. In total I was there for just under 2 hours.

TLDR; Avoid Edmonton Service Canada on Fridays and Mondays. Processing time by regular mail is 20 business days + 5 for mail times. There's two Passport locations in Canada place downtown -- one for urgent/10 day pick and one for mail in processing.

Frustrated that the side effects of Bimzelx are worse than my condition

My dad always used to say to me "you know, if all the world's problems were on the floor and you could pick up whichever one you wanted, you'd still pick up your own"

I'm 39(F) with type 1 HS but had been progressing worse and so I went on Bimzelx about 14 months ago (after unsuccess with cosentyx). It works great - and I suggest to anyone reading this to talk to your derm about it.

But, 3 months ago, I contracted Oral thrush and it's been an absolute nightmare to treat. I was warned by my derm and the Bimzelx prescribing pharmacy that it's super common to get thrush and to just get a quick treatment if I ever get it.

Well.... I've been on FOUR rounds of Nystatin, Flucanozole, and the anti-fungal lozenges. I ended up getting a vaginal infection and my husband got it on his penis. It's been awful. Aside from the discomfort and the crippling halt of my sex life, it's been hard to find a diet that doesn't flare it up worse. Sugar, spicy foods, alcohol, even fruit!! all trigger the thrush. And, I've been replacing my toothbrushes and lip balm every few days which is becoming costly and annoying.

Of course, I moved over to the r/candida sub to get advice. Lo and behold, it's just another community of people so frustrated with their conditions and how to treat effectively. We're all just dealing with these problems as best as we can -- and trying to live normal lives.

It sucks to say this, but I think I'm going to stick with this specific problem and this community and get off the Bimzelx because I can honestly say it's WORSE for my quality of life dealing with oral thrush than having HS. :(

If I gift someone a lounge voucher, will it work on an AirTransat flight for PlazaPremium?

FAQs on WJ flight are confusing. I think the answer is no, but wanted to be sure.

Where would be the best place to watch the World Cup in Mykonos?

Will everywhere be showing the games in the R32 and R16 even though Greece is not in the world cup?

Is there any possibility tomorrow’s game is cancelled?

Apologies for the dumb question, Im attending tomorrow’s game but I’m not familiar with the rules on friendly matches.

Would there be any scenarios in which the game is cancelled tomorrow with this inclement weather?
