4th Airbnb in 8 months : I design all my properties myself. Would love some honest feedback on this one

I’m a multiple-property Airbnb host in Ranchi and this is my 4th property in 8 months.
One thing I really enjoy about hosting is designing the spaces myself. I don’t use an interior designer : I usually conceptualise the look, choose the furniture, colours, textiles, artwork and little details myself.
I’ve just finished this one and, as always, I’ve reached the stage where I’ve stared at it for far too long :D So I’d love some fresh, honest opinions from fellow hosts and guests.
The idea here was to create something warm, cozy, lived-in and slightly quirky, rather than going down the very common white/beige/minimal Airbnb route.
I’ve used warm yellow walls, muted blue, terracotta/orange, gingham, plants, books, artwork and a few vintage-inspired pieces.
How does it feel to you?
Does it look genuinely cozy and inviting?
Does the colour combination work?
Does it feel cohesive or a little too busy?
Would this appeal to a broad range of travellers - couples, solo travellers, families and work travellers?
Does anything immediately stand out as something I should change/add/remove?
And if you came across this on Airbnb, while looking for a stay in tier 2 city would the interiors make you stop scrolling and look at the listing?

Looking for an Interior Designer + Complete Execution Team

I’m looking for an interior designer/interior execution team to help me revamp a pre-loved villa.
I already have a clear design vision and aesthetic in mind for the spaces. I usually design my own properties, but for this project, I’m looking to collaborate with a professional team that can translate my ideas into the actual space and take care of the technical execution.
The main reason I’m looking for a complete team is to have reliable people for civil work, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, etc., rather than coordinating with multiple contractors individually.
I’m looking for someone who:
• Can understand and execute an existing design vision
• Has a reliable team of carpenters, civil workers, plumbers, electricians, painters, etc.
• Can suggest practical solutions without changing the overall design direction
• Is comfortable working with an existing/pre-loved villa and creatively revamping it
• Can work within a reasonable and well-managed budget
• Can take responsibility for execution from start to finish
This is more of a collaboration + execution requirement than a conventional “design the entire house for me” project.
If you’re an interior designer/team who enjoys bringing someone else’s design vision to life, please DM me with your portfolio, location, execution capabilities, and details of your team.
Would love to find someone who can take the vision I have in my head and make the actual rooms look just as good.
PS : the location is in Ranchi !

Taking over a previously deactivated Airbnb listing as a co-host – should I start fresh?

Hi everyone,
I’m an experienced Airbnb host managing multiple successful properties all ranking (top 10%) and I’ve recently started offering co-hosting services.
One of my new clients owns a penthouse that was previously listed on Airbnb and a few other OTAs. Unfortunately, the property never performed well-not because of the property itself, but because the owner was completely new to hosting. The listing suffered from slow response times, inconsistent calendar management, poor optimization, and eventually became inactive/deactivated. Since then, he’s been relying solely on offline bookings.
I’ll now be taking over the entire hosting operation, including listing optimization, pricing, guest communication, and day-to-day management.
I have a few questions for hosts who’ve dealt with similar situations:

  1. Is it better to create a brand-new listing, with a new name or should I try to reactivate/use the previous one?
  2. Would changing the primary host account or host name make any difference from Airbnb’s algorithm or trust perspective?
  3. We’re planning to upgrade the interiors and get professional photography. Would launching it as a refreshed property with a completely new presentation help, or does Airbnb still associate it with the previous listing?
  4. If the old listing had poor response metrics and low performance (but no policy violations or safety issues), can that history negatively impact future visibility or rankings?
  5. Are there any best practices for relaunching a property that previously underperformed?
  6. Is there any way I can make out the listing is deactivated from Airbnb ‘s end . The owner does not have the listing link .

  1. .

I’

  1. d especially appreciate insights from experienced hosts or Superhosts who’ve successfully turned around a struggling listing.

Thanks in advance!

Opening a few co-hosting slots for Airbnb hosts across India 🇮🇳

Hi everyone!
Some of you may have seen my previous posts here about my Airbnb journey and the properties I operate under Adobe Living.

I started hosting my first property in January 2026. Since then, I’ve grown to 3 Airbnb properties, all managed remotely, and have accumulated 90+ Airbnb reviews while focusing heavily on guest experience, systems, and revenue optimization.
My listings consistently rank among the top-performing Airbnb properties in my city in terms of guest satisfaction and overall performance, and that’s largely because I enjoy building efficient operational systems rather than simply listing properties.
Professionally, I’m also an Operations Manager at Amazon, where I work on process improvement, stakeholder management, execution, and SOP-driven operations. That operational mindset has translated really well into running short-term rentals.
I’m now opening a few slots for hosts across India who need help managing or setting up their Airbnb business.
What I offer
🏡 Remote Co-hosting
Airbnb listing optimization
SEO-friendly titles & descriptions
Dynamic pricing & revenue optimization
Calendar management
Guest communication
Review management
Self check-in workflows
Cleaning & maintenance coordination with your local team
Monthly performance tracking & recommendations
🚀 Virtual End-to-End STR Setup
If you’re planning to start an Airbnb but don’t know where to begin, I also offer a complete virtual STR-ready setup, typically delivered within 15–20 days.
This includes:
Property positioning & concept planning with moodboards
Space planning & furnishing guidance
Interior styling recommendations
Amenities checklist
Airbnb listing creation
Photography guidance
Pricing strategy
Guest SOPs & house rules
Tech stack recommendations
Launch strategy to get your property market-ready
Think of it as taking your property from an empty apartment (or underperforming listing) to an Airbnb that’s ready to welcome guests.
How I work
I specialize in remote operations.
Owners continue to own and control their property while I handle the online operations. Local cleaners and maintenance staff are hired directly by the owner: I coordinate with them to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Pricing
Remote Co-hosting: Typically 12-15% of booking revenue, depending on the scope.
Virtual STR Setup: Fixed project fee based on property size (1BHK- studio apartment/2bhk/3bhk)and requirements.
I intentionally work with only a handful of clients so I can stay hands-on and deliver quality instead of trying to manage dozens of listings.
If you’re an Airbnb host-or planning to become one-and would like help improving your operations, guest experience, or revenue, feel free to send me a DM.
Happy to answer questions even if we don’t end up working together.

Six months ago, I knew almost nothing about hosting. Today, all three of my Airbnb listings are Guest Favorites (Top 10% of homes), and it still feels a little surreal.🙌

When I started, I wasn’t from the hospitality industry, and I definitely didn’t have a property management background. I just had a genuine interest in creating beautiful spaces and an obsession with giving guests an experience they’d genuinely remember.
What makes this milestone even more special to me is that I’ve been doing all of this remotely while working a full-time job.
Over the past six months, I’ve somehow found myself wearing every hat imaginable.
I designed and styled each apartment myself, spent countless hours researching layouts, lighting, furniture, linens, décor, and guest psychology. I learned Airbnb pricing from scratch, monitored calendars almost every day, adjusted nightly rates based on demand, weekends, seasonality, and local events, and constantly experimented to improve occupancy while maintaining a healthy ADR.
Every guest review became feedback for the next booking. If someone mentioned something-even something small-I tried to improve it. That mindset has helped us maintain consistently high ratings, with an average of around 4.95★ across our listings.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful to say that we’ve achieved:
⭐ 3 active Airbnb listings
🏆 All 3 are Guest Favorites (Top 10% of homes)
🌟 Superhost status
💬 85+ guest reviews
⭐ Around 4.95★ average rating
The biggest lesson for me has been that there isn’t one magic trick to becoming a Guest Favorite. It’s the outcome of hundreds of small decisions that guests may never notice individually-but they absolutely feel collectively.
This journey has taught me that hospitality isn’t just about providing accommodation; it’s about creating trust, comfort, and consistency. Seeing guests appreciate those little details has been the most rewarding part.
I’m excited to launch two more properties in the coming months and continue learning with every new listing.
A huge thank you to this community. I’ve spent countless hours reading discussions here, learning from experienced hosts, and applying those lessons to my own listings. This milestone is, in many ways, a reflection of everything I’ve picked up here.
For anyone who’s just starting out: you don’t need to know everything on day one. Stay curious, keep improving after every guest, and trust that consistency compounds.
I’d love to hear from other hosts-what’s one lesson that completely changed the way you host?

One thing this journey has made me realize is how much I enjoyed the process-not just hosting, but everything behind the scenes. From designing the interiors and optimizing listings to managing calendars, pricing, ADR, guest communication, and reviews, I’ve genuinely loved learning every part of it.
If sharing what I’ve learned can help someone else, I’d love to give back to this community.
So if you’re a host who could use an extra hand with co-hosting, listing optimisation, pricing, guest communication, or simply want to bounce around ideas, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help wherever I can, and if it turns into a co-hosting opportunity, I’d be delighted to work together.
Looking forward to launching two more properties soon-and continuing to learn from this amazing community along the way.
