What does living area say about me?

I live in a pretty spacious 2 bed 2 bath apartment in the South, and these are some photos from different seasons throughout the year. The spring photos are what it currently looks like, but I also included a few fall and Christmas pictures. It actually gets WAY more elaborately decorated during Christmas than what’s shown here, but most of my Christmas content is on video so I didn’t have many good photos of it.

I love decorating seasonally and making my apartment feel cozy and lived in year round. I’m curious what vibe my space gives off and what y’all think it says about my personality/lifestyle.

Every Modern Car Horror Story Makes Me More Thankful for My 2016 Prius

I know this is random, but I just wanted to make an appreciation post for my 2016 Toyota Prius Two.

The more horror stories I hear about modern cars, the more thankful I am for this thing.

Gas prices are up and I’m still only paying around $35 to fill up my tank. That’s maybe $15 more than I used to pay, but compared to what a lot of people are dealing with right now, I genuinely cannot complain. The MPG alone makes this car worth it.

But honestly, it’s not even just the fuel efficiency.

I feel like my Prius sits in the perfect middle ground where it’s modern enough without being overcomplicated. It has Bluetooth, touchscreen controls, a backup camera, and still looks futuristic to me even though it’s a 2016. It has everything I actually need without trying to turn driving into a science experiment.

Lately I’ve been seeing so many stories about newer vehicles having ridiculous tech issues. Today I watched a video where a guy talked about lane assist literally trying to pull him back toward a dangerous situation while he was attempting to avoid another car. Then there are all these stories about electronic door handles, dead batteries trapping people out of their own cars, endless sensor problems, subscription features, and electrical failures.

At a certain point I’m just like… why are we making cars this complicated?

My Prius still feels simple in the best possible way. Reliable. Practical. Easy to understand. Easy to live with.

Honestly, if I were giving advice to most people right now, I’d tell them to skip the newest flashy vehicles and find a reliable Toyota or Honda from the mid 2010s if they can. Especially if you can buy it cash. Used car prices are still insane, but I still think dependable older vehicles are the better move over some of these rolling computers manufacturers are putting out now.

I do eventually want a Toyota Tacoma because I’ve always loved them, but the funny thing is I don’t even feel rushed to upgrade because my Prius is healthy, dependable, and does exactly what I need it to do.

Anyway, just wanted to show some appreciation for my Prius. This car has honestly been a blessing.

Why do so many men want kids while knowing almost nothing about pregnancy?

I hate how some men talk about wanting kids purely for “legacy” while knowing almost nothing about pregnancy, childbirth, ovulation, postpartum recovery, or maternal health.

A lot of women are expected to risk their bodies, health, careers, hormones, sleep, mental wellbeing, and sometimes even their lives to have children, while some men’s contribution biologically begins and ends with orgasm.

And yet so many of them have never even seriously educated themselves on what pregnancy actually does to the body beyond “it changes you.”

Some don’t understand ovulation. Some don’t understand fertility windows. Some have never watched a real birth. Some genuinely don’t grasp that women still die during childbirth.

I’m not saying men can’t want children. I’m saying it frustrates me when the conversation is centered around “legacy” without equal understanding of the sacrifice being asked of women.

For context, my hubby chose my original wedding set. I love it so much! But I need something for everyday wear and wanted something more sparkly without the price tag. My original set is posted a few posts back for those who want to see it. It’s a moss agate pear set in white gold with a matching chevron band that has moissanite in the band. But this new set is a half eternity band. Each oval is .5 ct. IJ-SI clarity set in sterling silver. I have a plain 2mm gold band that I pair with it (as shown). Before anyone says anything, I am aware that silver is softer than gold. I am also aware that silver tarnishes. I own silver and love it! Mine really hasn’t tarnished, but a quick polishing returns it to being like new. Anyway, just wanted to share!
