If I read subs like r/aromanticasexual and r/aroace it seems like there are very few posts about liking and desiring sex. Pretty much the only place where you find significant amounts of aromantics discussing wanting sex is the r/AroAllo sub where people are openly allosexual.
Do you think that the aro community has less fake aces?
Assume we have a person who is cis, and heterosexual by attraction, but they have always disliked sex. Their sexual repulsion appears to be innate, not caused by trauma or any other apparent reason, like bad partners. The repulsion is also unresponsive to any form of sexual therapy.
In the asexual circles, someone like this is known as a ”sex-repulsed allosexual”. Since the person still has a heterosexual orientation, instead of no orientation, they are not asexual.
In your opinion, would this person be queer? Would they be a part of the LGBTQA+ community?
A thought experiment:
Imagine there is an allosexual who has all their life been sex-repulsed. Their repulsion appears innate and it is unresponsive to sex therapy.
In your opinion, should they be considered queer or a part of the LGBT+?
Edit: Assume that they are cisgender and heterosexual by attraction. The point is to ponder whether sex repulsion alone counts towards being queer.
Im an allo woman but extremely sex-indifferent, to the point that most of the time I’m basically averse.
A few times I’ve had an urge to cut my hair short and start wearing less feminine clothing in hopes of making my past (male) partners less attracted to me. In relationships I’ve been able to tolerate sex occasionally once in a blue moon, but the fact that my partners are constantly horny is exhausting, even if they are very respectful and don’t initiate sex.
Anyone else?
