Close the book. Mortal Shell 2 is one of the best Soulslike of all time.

I've been debating whether to wait, since I currently have about 15 hours in this game, but I'm making up my mind: this game is fantastic, and it just keeps getting better the further I progress. The shells are all unique in their own way and always bring a fresh perspective to the gameplay. The exploration is brutal, yes, brutal. It's exhausting and draining, but also rewarding, and that dopamine rush when a bonfire appears—yes, that's Souls.

Wuchang gave me this feeling recently, and although I still think Wuchang is the best non-FS soulslike, MS2 is on this level. It has that Souls essence from DeS, Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2, BB and Wuchang. Kudos to the developers! I'm looking forward to future patches that will perfect the game.

It’s a 100% Must buy for Souls Fans

Ghost of Yotei is absolut Cinema

I just finished Yotei and it absolutely blew me away. I haven't played Tsushima yet, and the fact that I even played Yotei was pure chance, since I mainly play Souls/Soulslike games, Final Fantasy titles, and Diablo 3/4.

Yotei was lying on my brother's table, whom I rarely visit, and he suggested I take the disc and try it out. So I did, and 56 hours later, I'm standing here applauding. The meticulously crafted world, the ambitious combat system, and the emotional story are truly outstanding, and anything below 10/10 doesn't do this audiovisual masterpiece justice. It's cinematic in every aspect of the game, and the music is some of the best I've ever experienced. In fact, it fundamentally supports the narrative and is so seamlessly woven into it that I was close to tears several times. The ascent on Mt yotei just before the finale was absolutely world-class, underscored by Atsu's theme, and the developers deserve all the praise.

There are a few minor flaws (it's sometimes too easy to get distracted by the world, the game is occasionally too hands-on, and the puzzles are a bit too easy), but they don't detract from the overall package. I'll probably have to catch up on Ghost of Tsushima now, because I've already found some clues in the game that point to the events of Tsushima, and I want to learn more about the legendary samurai with the Stormblade. (I did know, however, that Yotei isn't a direct sequel to Tsushima). I also want to praise the phenomenal performance. I'm playing on a PS5 Pro in Pro RT mode at a locked 60fps, and I've never seen a visually superior game on consoles, neither in terms of graphics nor this incredible art direction. I often just stood there and admired the world. 10/10

Okay, after 3 hours of Mortal Shell 2 beta

I'm a longtime Souls fan with over 14,000 hours in all kinds of Souls games. I think Mortal Shell 2 really has the potential to become one of the best non-FS Souls games. Currently, Wuchang is my favorite, but what I played in the 3-hour Mortal Shell 2 beta really impressed me. I barely liked the first game, but this one is like a revolution, and I think it's heavily inspired by Remnant 2 (certainly one of my top Souls games). I hope the developers fix the technical issues (massive pop-ins) before release and add a PS5 Pro mode and HDR. I can easily see this becoming an 80+ MC Souls game. I'm looking forward to the release.

Diablo 4 Lord of hatred deserves best Music and Score and best narrative this year .

It's the best story in Diablo in literally decades, full of shocking moments and an insane finish. The music is absolutely top-notch as well. I've played several games this year and I wouldn't know which one is better in these categories.

FFVII Revelation , Sounds like a paradigm shift in the genre.

Okay, we did it! Last night we finally got the reveal of the final part of the remake trilogy, and while I worked a lot last night and got little sleep, everything they've shown and said so far felt like too much. I was literally unprepared.

I guess Hamaguchi and company really caught me and the entire community off guard. It all feels very satisfying after the last agonizing months of suffering and waiting.

But okay, now it's all sunk in, and holy crap, am I reading this right? Revelation won't just be Rebirth 2.0. No, Hamaguchi says it will offer a completely different gameplay immersion and experience, maximum freedom, different canonical story paths, an open, consistent, and interconnected world, and the intention to transform the classic FF7 map into a world that still feels like a journey. The world is connected from beginning to end, and you can fly wherever you want. That could be explain how he was able to complete 40 playthroughs. They were probably all different, with different events and even different gameplay experiences, especially since the job system now adds a ton of new build possibilities.

He also emphasized that Revelation is bigger, much bigger, and that old areas like Cosmo Canyon are still available and accessible. The whole world has organically changed compared to Rebirth. Holy crap, someone has to stop this guy or the kitchen's going to explode! LET'S GO!

I have to live until spring 2027
