What actually makes a music YouTube channel grow in 2026?

Hi everyone,

Why do some new music channels seem to reach millions of views very quickly, sometimes within months, while others stay relatively small even after years of consistent uploads?

What factors matter most today?

music quality

thumbnails / visuals

upload strategy

consistency

algorithm factors

branding / packaging

or something else?

What is actually driving fast growth in modern music channels?

Thanks for any insights!

Anyone else find Neumann KH 120 II fatiguing for arrangement work (not mixing)?

Used KH 120 V2 daily for 3 years, 5+ hours a day, both mixing and arranging in Logic Pro. Great for critical mixing — neutral and accurate.

But during arrangement specifically (adding layers, picking tones, building ideas) I get fatigued fast and lose motivation within 45-60 min. The analytical sound makes everything feel less exciting creatively — every flaw is so exposed that it's hard to just enjoy a tone early in the process.

3 years in, so I doubt it's an adjustment thing.

Anyone else dealt with this? Did adding a warmer second monitor (Focal, ADAM, etc.) for arrangement actually help, or is this more about listening levels/habits?

**Can a wrong mic actually kill your vocal performance and inspiration?**

I'm a lyric baritone, singer/producer with ~15 years experience. My current mic is a Warm Audio WA-251, and I've been struggling with something that's hard to explain technically but very real:

When I sing — especially monitoring myself in real-time with pitch correction (Autotune) — I feel zero inspiration. The voice sounds thin, lifeless, doesn't open up. It's like there's a wall between me and the sound. I push harder, I try different techniques, but nothing clicks. The session just dies.

I'm starting to think the mic simply doesn't suit my voice type. No matter the positioning or EQ, the low-mid body of my baritone just isn't there.

**My questions:**

  1. Has anyone experienced a mic literally killing your inspiration and performance in real-time monitoring?

  2. Can a mic genuinely not suit a voice type, no matter what you do?

  3. For baritones in a home studio — what mics actually made you WANT to sing when you heard yourself back?

  4. Any recommendations in the mid-to-high range worth considering for warm, present baritone sound?

Chain: RME Babyface Pro FS → mic → Logic Pro. Room is treated. Genre is electronic/ethno with lead vocals.

Looking for real experience, not spec sheets.

LANDR Distribution paid me $70 for 12 million streams over 18 months. Stay away

I released 74 tracks through LANDR. One track hit 12 million plays. Total payout after 18 months: $70.

When I asked for a detailed breakdown they sent template replies. When I pushed harder — they stopped responding completely.

They also advertise free Content ID. Never received it. No explanation given.

Two years of work, 74 tracks, and I can't even cover basic expenses. The promises end the moment you subscribe.

Has anyone else experienced this? And which distributor actually pays fairly?
