EXPERT speculation about Hayden Panettiere
This doctor is not making any claims. He is simply curious to learn what medications she may have been prescribed and whether this might be another accidental overdose like happened with Matthew Perry.

Apparently the Writers Room completely forgot the fact that Claire's blood can heal people. It literally brought Noah back from the dead hours after he took a bullet to the head through his eye. After Sylar killed Nathan, using Claire's blood should've been the first thing they tried to do to save Nathan instead of the first thing being to make Sylar believe he was Nathan. The end of Volume 4 was so dumb.

David Ellison cannot be trusted.
This gilded specimen of self-delusion, preening arrogance, screeching victimization and absurdist contradictions appeared in The New York Times for the purposes of convincing someone, somewhere, that the real-life version of Jack Brown, the main character in the Richard Pryer-Jackie Gleason movie “The Toy,” is not going to take it anymore.
The final product is no doubt the sum of a tremendous team effort, but in the end, it came to naught because all of the king’s men couldn’t put the reputation of the soft-handed boy billionaire back together again.
Gaggles of lawyers, incompetent public relations executives and Larry’s men passed around the draft filled with Little Larry’s lamentations, and made them ready for publication in The New York Times. It offers a rare glimpse into the mind of the boy billionaire baked by nepotism, swaddled in softness and estranged from reality…
…
For the record, here are the contours of his corrupt deal:
The proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger features a total foreign ownership stake of 49.5%. Approximately 38.5% of the combined company's equity would be funded by a trio of Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds: with the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund holding a 15.1% equity stake, Abu Dhabi-based funds/L’imad Holding with a 12.8% equity stake and Qatar Investment Authority with a 10.6% equity stake.
Plus, Larry Ellison provided an irrevocable $40.4 billion personal equity and financing guarantee.
Let’s put it another way. Little Larry is in business with his father, a MAGA super donor, and also the Saudis, whom Trump has decided should have a nuclear weapon — after they gave Jared $2 billion in cash for his investment fund that appears to be the down payment for Ivanka’s island off the Albanian coast.
Meanwhile, another Ellison deal partner, Qatar, the generous sheiks who gave Trump a gold gilded 747 unfit for presidential travel, while also hosting Hamas, are also part of the deal. So, don’t you ever forget that David Ellison pulled himself up by his boot straps when the going got tough as a young stunt pilot, and he’s ready to do it again — alone if necessary, at least according to the NYT version of his Horatio Alger story…
…
The saddest part of David’s cry is when he compares himself to Ted Turner and Edward R Murrow…
The entirety of David Ellison’s merger is a corrupt transaction. It was made dirty in the original payment of tribute to Trump in the settlement of a spectacularly frivolous law suit with Donald Trump by Shari Redstone. It was as close to an open air bribe as a person can get this side of Saudi Arabia.
All of it is a disgrace. The reality of this moment is that the Ellisons are in trouble.
All of the kings horses and highly paid advisors have decided that David — if we get to know him a bit better — is a sympathetic and trusted figure…
…
They have decided to tell David that he can talk himself out of his hole.
Here’s the deal.
He’s not to be trusted.
His agenda is not yours. He cares little for his country, your future, and none for your kids.
He is the son of an amoral predator who is at the end of his rope.
Don’t believe a word this man says.
Only a fool would…
I’m so tired of this Michael Whatley commercial running nonstop on Samsung TV streaming channels that I’ve resorted to having Prime Video live streaming channels playing in the background, just to avoid Whatley’s commercial. That commercial of him driving a car and saying he’s never run for office before literally runs at least twice during every commercial break on every single Samsung TV streaming channel. EVERY commercial break. Multiple times! EVERY channel no matter the channel genre. I can’t take it anymore! Thank you, Prime Video!
More Perfect Union did this report related to the Trump DOJ's approvals of the Ticketmaster-Live Nation, Nexstar-Tegna, and PSKY-WBD mergers.
What they saw shouldn't shock most people here, but there could be some people out there and overseas who, for some reason, might still believe the Trump regulators actually believe in enforcing Antitrust Law. They don't.
EDIT: The fact that Reddit doesn't allow edits to a primary link in a post so I can make the video start playing at the beginning is beyond annoying.
Thom Tillis recently said there is no time to implement the SAVE Act by the Midterms even if it passes.
Let's be clear about one thing regarding the SAVE Act: Trump wants the SAVE Act passed to create a pretense to DERAIL (challenge or postpone) THE 2026 MIDTERMS.
Therefore, he doesn't actually care anything about implementation timelines.
If the SAVE Act passed, the Trump White House, Mike Johnson, and the SCOTUS would use its passage as an excuse for Trump's DOJ to:
Too many people are still trying to apply practical standards to Trump's irrational actions. People need to learn to consider how Trump, Stephen Miller, Todd Blanche, Mike Johnson, and Steve Bannon are thinking about these things. If the SAVE Act is passed, their next step will be using its passage as an excuse to derail the 2026 midterms, NOT to ensure the Act is "implemented" before November. They are more likely to simply claim that the inability to fully implement it by November justifies postponing the Midterm Elections, and any resulting outrage or protests would enable Trump to declare a State of Emergency.
Passing the SAVE Act at this point would unleash total chaos on this country. It wouldn't need to be implemented to have its intended result.
I hope the Crystal Lake TV series is a huge success and that -- along with Welcome to Derry's success -- leads to a Nightmare on Elm Street TV series.
One thing I'd like to see play out onscreen in this series is the actual background story when the eventual parents killed Fred Krueger. That story could either be covered in Episode 1 (the pilot), or a few episodes in Season 1.
If I did it, the twist would be that Fred Krueger was simply a local recluse and weirdo, maybe even an occultist, who didn't actually commit the initial crimes; he was falsely accused, convicted, and eventually burned alive by the eventual parents, and the actual killer escaped justice. Some of the parents of the parents of Freddy's eventual victims -- the victims' grandparents -- could've been powerful town officials who helped cover up what their kids did to Fred Krueger back in the day. This makes Freddy's vengeance clearly about lineage, at least early on.
Just because Freddy eventually becomes a monster after he was killed doesn't mean he had to be one before his death, and it wouldn't change the fact that Freddy shouldn't be killing kids who had nothing to do with his murder; but it would add a different dynamic to the whole franchise: some viewers would believe that the parents who killed the original Krueger brought it on themselves and deserved what they were getting because Freddy was the victim, but Freddy is still in the wrong for taking it out on teens who had nothing to do with his death.
If Freddy was evil in life and death, that can get boring pretty fast. But if there's also a secondary plot of identifying the actual child killer since it wasn't Freddy and exposing all those involved in killing Fred and covering it up, that keeps things more interesting for a longer time.
New comments cannot be added to the archived post for what the prospective MLB Team in Raleigh should be named, so here's mine: Carolina Emeralds.
This was the name I first recommended on Twitter years ago when this topic first came up.
Believe it or not, NC is known for emeralds and the largest emerald cut in North America (the "Carolina Emperor") is located in Downtown Raleigh at the Raleigh Museum of Natural Sciences.
If Louisville is also able to buy Milan Momcilovic, their roster has to be $20 - $30 million for next year. This is ridiculous in the obscene way. If the NCAA is not going to cap how much teams can spend and establish salary caps for players based on class year (Fr, So, Jr, Sr, Ss), then the only way for this ship to correct itself is for boosters to go broke or for the teams that spend the most trying to buy a National Title to keep losing every year so the boosters will finally realize that the gamble isn't worth the investment.
If the highest spenders end up winning most seasons, then NCAA basketball will be dead at that point. Society cannot have college basketball programs buying NCAA titles like that.
UNC is said to be interested in Sayon Keita and Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje, both of whom currently play for FC Barcelona.
I wonder if UNC is interested in signing both Keita and Boumtje-Boumtje for the upcoming season? B-B will turn 17 on May 30, but he already has a good frame for college basketball, and if he were to reclassify to 2026, I think he'd be a great backup stretch 4 for Jarin Stevenson.
I'd instantaneously feel much better about UNC's roster next season with both Keita (starting C) and B-B on it.
Maxim Logue is only 6'9, but there are plenty of college centers that size, so I'd be perfectly fine if he could provide some minutes as a change-of-pace backup 5 in a lineup with B-B as the 4. I view Maximo Adams primarily as a 3/SF, who could play some 4/PF in a small lineup.
If UNC goes to Spain and only signs Keita for next season, they will still need to find at least one more big man for next season, imo.
