I know this topic has been covered in another thread but I wanted to revive it here to get fresh thoughts.
I just moved to a new house and I’m dealing with all sorts of EMI. I have Curtis Novak JM-HC Stealth humbuckers in two of my JMs. It pretty much solved my noise issues at my old place, but the interference is much more pronounced at my new place.
I read that metal PU covers can help with that a little bit, and even a little bit of help would be a win for me. I’m fine with the tonal characteristics changing a little bit in service of less noise. However, I don’t want to go down this road if in fact it won’t objectively help.
Just wondering if anyone had any experience with metal PUs—I see some aluminum ones for sale on Etsy. Also, what’s the deal with grounding them?
