Treated myself to my first nice guitar after playing for 16 years. Even with a budget of $2500, I couldn’t put this sucker down that was on sale for $680. The neck is sooo buttery and the British racing green is just a banger! I installed the mastery kit today after my bridge kept falling and strings slipping out of pure frustration. It resonates wickedly nice and I can go ham on my strumming! 10/10. Might change the pick guard to match the amethyst kit but so far I’m vibing with it

Update of my Peavey Retro Fire project, I think it looks way cooler with just the bridge humbucker. What do you guys think?

Absolutely adore these guitars. I was initially interested in them because I saw a photo of Jeff Buckley playing one. I've collected a handful over the years and I wanted to share with y'all. They're excellent value for money too; the most expensive one was around $800 CAD, and came with locking tuners, stainless steel frets, and Seymour Duncans. Enjoy!

'22 player plus with s1 switch. Read a lot of mixed reviews that held me back from getting one for a while. Pickups aren't as hot as I would've hoped but that's the only downside so far. Very comfortable to play and I dig the 12" radius fretboard. Got a good deal on it so overall pretty pleased.

Took off the knobs on my CV jaguar. Didn’t know about the hex screw on the side of the knob, so just pulled them. The metal rob that goes into the pot came out as well. See picture for reference.

Now the knobs won’t go back on. I can put them on partially but they spin around and aren’t engaging the pots. The rhythm circuit works when I plug in, but when the pickups are in standard mode it makes no sound.

Does this mean I’ve broken the pots and need to replace? Or is there some way to fix this?

You guys helped me learn a lot about this replacement bridge on my dad’s old 1967 Jaguar. Now I’m curious what the piece is called that is usually found where the screw is on the bridge between the D and G strings?

In the first photo, my dad’s guitar has a flat head screw where this piece is but I see a lot of Jaguars with a little button. I’m thinking it locks the tremolo but I’m not sure.

Any chance the screw is original in my dad’s guitar or was it likely replaced and if so, why would he have replaced it with a screw?

The Palo Duros are lovely. The bridge has some snap without getting sharp. The neck stays easy. And the four-way series position adds weight

My main guitar where I really cut my teeth learning how to do setups (in that context, you could probably file an offset w/ a floating bridge under "tial-by-fire"). I took on a lot of high-risk, high-reward mods—some just for the sake of the exercise—but ended up learning a ton in the process.

To mount the open trembucker, I spray-painted the stock bridge pickup's soapbar cover chrome, flipped it upside down, and rigged it with adhesive window sealing foam to make it adjustable. I had to flip the magnet to correct the phase, but since the stock pickups on these are already super hot to begin it balances perfectly with the neck. A full 1.0 degree shim and a proper fret level was what brought it all the way home for this thing to be able to shred like a mf—while still retaining its character mid-position jangle when you need it.

I sanded and steel-wooled the Fisher-Price-looking ass polyurethane gloss off the body and neck, then hit it with some Tru-Oil. It has a really nice matte finish now, and the back of the neck feels nice and natural.

The hybrid JM/stang' bridge abomination serves no discernible purpose, but has a janky rat-rod charm I think looks cool.

the first pic seems modded. initially thought it was a string-through body, but there are no holes on the back of the body.

can anyone tell what the bridge is, and can i mod it back to the original mustang bridge?

Just acquired an actual fender cyclone from back in the day and not sure if I should change the pickguard or not. It’s next to my modified Squier obviously. Thoughts?

I have a J Mascis Jazzmaster in Purple Sparkle (MIJ) and I’m looking into upgrading the bridge.

The main issue is that the bridge mounting holes seem to be spaced differently from those on other Jazzmasters, so I’m wondering what options are available without running into compatibility issues.

Has anyone here installed an aftermarket bridge on this specific model? I’m particularly interested in the Mastery bridge, but I’m aware that the different hole spacing might make it a bit more complicated.

I’m not afraid of doing some modifications if necessary to get a Mastery bridge to fit properly.

I’d just like to hear from anyone who’s done this before, what was involved, and whether it was worth it.

Any advice, experiences, or alternative bridge recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Brand new guitar, bought it for $150 (translating from Brazilian guitar prices). With fresh 0.13 strings tuned to B 🤤.

Just wish it had more knobs and buttons.

And my first 6-string offset. 2022 used custom shop in Shell Pink w/ matching headstock. Also my first guitar with a 7.25" fretboard radius and I honestly love it.
