Its gonna be a long rant, about language discrimination not hindi Marathi but marathi and marathi

I come from the marathwada part of Maharashtra and i come and go to pune often, sometimes just to visit my relatives and cousins and the 1st time i have been to pune was in 2017 i was like 12 years old that time, now i was in a society park sitting on a bench there looking at my 5 year old cousin playing , now i call him saying come lets go upside , its dark now , ofc in my marathwada dialect/accent , now this a over 60 year old man looks at me and says “kiti ashudh marathi ahe re tuzi, hech shikavtat ka tumhala shalet, kiti galeech te uchhar tuze(“how impure is the way you speak marathi, the pronunciation is disgusting, is this what they teach you in school?”) and he said that to me in a way like he is superior to me and i am inferior to him and as a kid i went in a deep self extensial crisis feeling so bad and thinking that i speak very badly that its embarrassing and i need to change my way of speaking marathi. Now i have been to pune like dozens of time in last 9 years and there always have been some uncle or aunty even some fellow punekars looking down upon me or looking me at a way that they are superior to me.

Now my question is to all the fellow punekars who has this thinking that the accent / dialect they use of marathi is superior to all other dialect and their marathi is “shudh” now tell me on what basis a language is impure and pure , how come if a person who is not from pune and doesnt speak the way they do is inferior and his marathi is “ashudh”.

Dont you guys know our state Maharashtra as in its name its large too, its spreaded all over india some parts is in south some towards gujarat, madhyapradesh etc , Not only marathi but any language English hindi tamil telugu or any language u take , you will never hear the same accent or dialect all over the state , you will see a different tone or way of speaking as you go in different part of a state . Dialects and way of talking of a language is based on what parts of the state they live in, their accent or dialects differs to other dialects of the same language in different part of the same state, yea i get it one generalised marathi is used that we use in textbooks or official document and all, but looking down on other just cause they dont speak the same language as you do is very hypocritical and stupid , like dont these guys know simple geography? We expect other non-marathi people to respect our language and we don’t respect our one itself .

This happened yesterday infront of the partition museum entrance,

I go to the partition museum like 3 4 times a week , cause there are food stalls and eat something, basically everytime i go, i park my scooty near the gate as seen in the image or right side theres a tree i park beneath it, till now no one said anything, no police or anything, i used to leave my scooty for hours still had no problem, so as usual i went yesterday around 2 30 pm and i parked my scooty on the right side and i never saw a guard standing infront of the gate like in a uniform infront of the gate, he saw me he shouted at me ‘ ruk jo rukjo’ and he approached to me, i said “ ki ae?” He goes “ andar aandeyo jo?” I said “darbar sahb jandeyi” he goes “ scooty para kro” i said “kyu?” He goes “ launi ya taan jal pani fada ke ja” i said “ mai itthe nit aundi ya , tussi taan kade vekkhya ni ithe mai, aaj kittho aage?” He said “ scooty laake jao bus chaa pani deke jao” i said “ mai kyu dava , bus meri scooty aa ithhe? inne sariyan de gaddiya hegi “ he goes “ ni kaddo pher ithho , dujje jagah chal jo” i said “ mai itthe hi launi yaa “, and i just started walking , he shouted like from top of his lungs saying ” gal sunlaaayyy , je scooty ittho kisi ne chakkli ta merii jimmedari ni aaa, itthe chor ghumde ne master key laike 1 mint vi ni laguga scooty chakn nu, ithe launi ya taan cha pani de ke ja ni taan para kr” and as he shouted 2 other guys came running towards me , the guard and the 2nd guy was like in mid 50s and the third guy was like mid 20s, three of them started saying me to remove the scooty or park in the paid parking on the other side and i kept arguing that i come here everyday even the foodstall people know me how come outta nowhere you guys are and from when a guard started standing there and too asking me money to park here, they started shouting and getting angry on me three of them , i just said “ khakh paihe ni dene mai” and i just went from there and parked my scooty another side. Anyones has any idea whats happening? And being a girl thats scary

Why people here when a outsider who tries to learn their language, culture or anything , they mock them rather than teaching them when they are trying to learn?

Now been here from 2-3 years, ofc as an outsider its a new state new place new food , culture, language and i love it and i respect it too, but everytime i tried to learn anything i always got mocked or laughed at rather than correcting me or teaching and people did make sure that i feel like an outsider here.

Got mocked while trying to speak in punjabi

Just venting, been in punjab from almost 2 years now, i come from other state , since i have been here i learnt punjabi how much i can and always tried to practice it by talking out to strangers. So as its been 2 years now i caught pretty much good hold of punjabi but my accent and pronunciation is bit off . So i was with my female friend whos punjabi , and we were out eating golgappe and i said 2 3 lines in punjabi to the golgappa vendor and my punjabi friend mocked me saying dont speak in it and i got little demotivated i was like okay i wont infront of you and then she went on saying no not in just infront of me not infront of anyone, and there were these so called chapris around there and started laughing at me and joking around about it just to have a convo with my female friend and she didnt even stop them about it . The only thing i heard was ”jittho da ya utthe di bhasa bol la ,, ajande ne begane dooje state te , te punjabich gal karan di koshish karke oda. Mazak banunde ne” ik its not my mother tongue but i was truly excited to learn punjabi now im all demotivated and dont feel like speaking anymore
