Update on my previous post, turns out I loved theotown too much so i went through the pain of cleanup. It took me 3 days to clean everything up.
I installed a new plugin for garbage disposal, installed temporary incinerators near heavily affected areas and finally my city is back on track. Please devs dont do something stupid with updates again.
Well I converted both IISc and IIFT D, I almost made up my mind to go to IISc, but then IIFT shows up. I’m a GEM Fresher with 8/9/7. Wanna get into consulting or Finance and I plan on doing a CFA during my MBA. (L1 before placements)
IIFT was my target but i unexpectedly converted IISc. Now i’m getting fomo letting go of the IISc tag.
IISc Pros:
- No struggle in placements as batch size is 20 people (no headache of cv shortlisting etc)
- Deadly tag, huge flex (I can literally act like Oppenheimer)
- I’m interested in finance and it’s the only place that offers quant roles.
- Great RoI (5L fees and goated campus)
IISc Cons:
- No organised placements (no placecomm coz its just 20 people) - so no guarantee if my target company would come that year
- The main reason for me to do an MBA is to run away from coding. I dread having to work on a desk all day.
- Less exposure, kinda defeats the point of an MBA, as its only engineers no diversity of opinion, cant learn much from my peers its almost like another MTech.
- Also not really an MBA it’s master of Management with a business analytics side. So I’m locked out of General Management and Marketing roles.
IIFT pros:
- Proper MBA, diverse pool of people good networking. I can learn way more from a commerce person or a CA peer of mine.
- Proper MBA broader scope, worst case i’ll get a marketing job, which i dont mind as ling as they pay me good and i dont get confined to an office.
- It alligns with my initial assumption of why i wanna do an MBA is to get out of coding and tech.
- I find the coursework interesting, with all exports imports and learning a new lang.
IIFT cons:
- I have to go through the placecomm headache of getting my resume shortlisted
- Might not even be shortlisted for Finance coz they’ll probably prefer a commerce grad or a CA over me.
- I cant milk the tag as many dont know IIFT outside the MBA circle.
- I’m kinda scared tha in the future IIFT might loose its relevance coz of its saturation with multiple campuses and limited funding.
I’d love your suggestions coz i’m finding it so hard to decide 🫠
I was so worried about bschools, and then IISc came as a messiah. My best convert was IIM U, So obviously choosing this over U. But i have a few doubts about it, like my chances look good in both IIM M and IIFT but in M I only have SM call.
So IIFT over this or? I plan to do a CFA during my course (at least L1 before placements) so that I can target finance roles, really wanna get into finance.
Any suggestions?
Since I updated the game idk how my waste disposal system suddenly got overwhelmed, i immediately constructed 8x more capacity than it actually was but it was too late now every single road in my city is blocked by garbage which i have to individually clean. Half my buildings are abandoned. Idk what happened.
I started building this section for a government plaza outside the city and slowly connected it to the city. I made it such that at least for 4 blocks no tall buildings so the view to this plaza isn’t obstructed. I removed my industrial port hub to connect this plaza to the sea.
