DEMON DANCER | Creating Nara: Practical Makeup & CGI Behind the Scenes

Creating Nara, the demon from DEMON DANCER: SUA/NARA, took practical makeup, special makeup effects (MFX), costume work, CGI—and remarkable endurance from actress Anita Korosi.

Anita flew from New York to Seoul and went straight from her arrival into the studio. There, the team cast her upper body from the waist up, including her face. She had to remain in position for six hours, jet-lagged and hungry, with only her nose exposed for breathing.

She was determined to give her best and help bring the character’s design to life as envisioned. The process demanded extraordinary patience, endurance, and willpower.

Creating Nara’s costume was the single most complex and expensive undertaking in DEMON DANCER.

Live and Die in East L.A.?

It popped up on my TikTok, has anyone here seen it? Apparently, the DVD was just released.

I read that it made an impact in the East L.A. community and received recognition from the City of Los Angeles. Pretty interesting for a micro-budget movie... it gives off End of Watch, Amores Perros/Run Lola Run vibes. Anyone watched it?

“I do not stand by in the presence of evil.” — Alita vibes in Demon Dancer?

Alita’s line came to mind looking at these three shots.

Demon Dancer: Sua/Nara, is an action-fantasy about a ballerina who learns to harness the demon possessing her. Curious whether you see the visual resemblance to Alita too.

From Ballerina to Action Hero | DEMON DANCER: SUA/NARA

Professional ballerina Jiyeon Han trains to become an action heroine in DEMON DANCER: SUA/NARA. Go behind the scenes of the preparation, fight rehearsals, and stunt collaboration behind her performance.

With ten years of experience at Gwangju City Ballet, Jiyeon brings a dancer’s discipline, timing, and physical control to screen action. This video explores the hard work behind that transition—the repetition, rehearsals, and teamwork involved in bringing fight choreography to life.

The film’s action was developed in collaboration with BORN STUNT and Gui-Duck Kwon, the Blue Dragon Award-winning action choreographer known for The Villainess.

Directed by Attila Korosi, DEMON DANCER: SUA/NARA is an original, English-language action fantasy film shot in South Korea, combining supernatural horror, combat, and anime-inspired visuals.

Ballerina materializes astral wepaons using her imagination.

Demons fear human creativity because imagination can physically manifest into astral weapons.

A dark fantasy about creativity and imagination as a weapon against evil, told through demons, curses, and possession.

A ballerina, seeking revenge against her husband, willingly allows a demon to possess her — believing her resolve for vengeance is strong enough to keep control of the darkness within her.

The real magic is within...

Badass moments from Demon Dancer: Sua/Nara

Reminds me of Constantine and a bit of Resident Evil in hell.
