I'm an international student from India and I'll be studying at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in Linz. I'm currently looking for accommodation and would really appreciate any suggestions or leads.

I'm looking for:

• Budget: €300–500/month (can stretch a little if needed)
• Within 20–30 minutes of JKU by tram or walking
• Shared apartment (WG) or student dorm, both are fine
• Move-in around September or October

I've already looked into a few student dorms, but I'm also open to private accommodation if it's reliable.

If anyone knows of an available room, is looking for a roommate, or can recommend trustworthy websites, Facebook groups, or other platforms to find housing, I'd really appreciate your help.

Hi everyone,

I am an international applicant from India for the Bachelor's programme in Mathematical Foundations of Data Science at the University of Vienna.

My application was recently closed because I did not complete the VFS Global competence check. Unfortunately, I genuinely did not know that this was a required step before the application could be processed. I had already submitted my apostilled Class 12 documents, English proficiency certificate, subject list, paid the application fee, and even received an invitation/admit card for the aptitude test.

Because the University informed the Austrian Embassy that I did not fulfill the admission requirements, my Schengen visa application for the aptitude test was also refused.

I have now contacted the University of Vienna and requested an opportunity to complete the competence check and continue my application.

My question is:

Has anyone experienced a similar situation where the University of Vienna allowed a missing requirement to be submitted later or reopened an application after a misunderstanding? How flexible are they in cases like this?

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has dealt with the admissions office or the VFS competence check process.

ich bin ein Bewerber aus Indien für den Bachelor Mathematical Foundations of Data Science an der Universität Wien.

Meine Bewerbung wurde geschlossen, weil ich den VFS Competence Check nicht gemacht habe. Leider wusste ich nicht, dass dieser verpflichtend ist. Ich hatte bereits alle anderen Dokumente eingereicht und sogar eine Einladung zum Aufnahmetest erhalten.

Dadurch wurde auch mein Visum abgelehnt.

Ich habe die Universität bereits kontaktiert und um die Möglichkeit gebeten, den Competence Check nachzureichen.

Hat jemand schon erlebt, dass die Uni Wien eine Bewerbung nachträglich wieder geöffnet hat oder fehlende Unterlagen später akzeptiert hat?
