An audio clue from the official Big Fish Games account? What could this mean? Detectives, get to work! 🔍🕵️

As of August 31, 2026, Big Fish Games announced the upcoming digitally remastered 10th Mystery Case Files game on the Big Fish Games website.

According to Lucas Fish's post in the Big Fish Fans Facebook Group (March 2026), the company has been doing its due diligence to determine what it would take to update some of these games to run on newer machines.

Amid the widespread demand from HOPA and MCF fans for the company to remaster Mystery Case Files 6: Dire Grove Collector's Edition due to the game not being playable on Windows 10 and 11, it turns out that Mystery Case Files 10: Fate's Carnival, originally made by Elephant Games, will be the first Mystery Case Files (MCF) game to get a remastered version. This might be due to several users experiencing issues in the original version of MCF10, most of which are the game's performance and optimization issues, such as laggy graphics (cutscene animations not syncing well with voices and sound effects); some users had reported the game not having audio and oftentimes laggy when recording on OBS; and finally, the FPS issues were similar to those in the other Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure (HOPA) game by Elephant Games. Despite Big Fish terminating its contracts with Elephant Games in March 2026, the MCF10 remaster is still in development as of August 2026.

It is unknown what this "modernized" version of Mystery Case Files 10: Fate's Carnival has in store, since Big Fish Games had a history of remastered games, including Friendly Fox's remastered version of Big Fish Studios' Drawn: The Painted Tower, which is now called ReDrawn: The Painted Tower, and Living Legends Remastered: Frozen Beauty, and Boomzap's Awakening Remastered: Moonfell Wood, and Awakening Remastered: The Dreamless Castle.

Update! Mystery Case Files: Fate's Carnival Collector's and Standard Edition have been delisted from the Big Fish Games website. According to the Facebook post by Big Fish Games (2026), they stated that Mystery Case Files 10: Fate's Carnival "digitally remastered" will have refined graphics and updated compatibility. Although it is specified on the game's page on the Big Fish Games website that the game only operates on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8, it still works on Windows 10 and 11.
