Need HOG recommendations

FOR IOS PLEASE
I love love love hidden folks, the hidden through time series and tricky doors… I need something new to scratch that itch - free or paid and I’d love the option for no ads! A lot of HOG are childish with timers/energy/etc and ads for every other level. I have scavenger hunt and paid for no ads and have enjoyed it but I would like to avoid investing in a game that isn’t going to pan out. Thanks in advance!

hospital game with a green girl ?

hi all, ive been searching for a mystery game i played with my nan when i was younger, probably around 2011-2013. i think the plot what about looking for a little girl, i remember she had red hair and was green at some point. i know at least a good portion takes place in a hospital, i also remember a portion being finding stones to place in crow statues but i could be getting that confused with another game. i remember the hospital was on fire at some point, and we were also reading letters near a row boat too. i know i dont have many details i apologise, but anything helps ! thanks !

Reposted: [News] GrandMA Studios sues Big Fish Games (BFG Entertainment)

Please read the documents in the below sources section for the full, original details. I needed to repost this because I accidentally showed my personal info in one of the screenshots.

A few days ago (May 11, 2026), the HOPA game developer GrandMA Studios has officially filed a lawsuit against BFG Entertainment (Big Fish Games' new owners) for allegedly illegally terminating their royalties, contracts, and distribution and licensing rights, threatening to remove GrandMA's games from online and mobile stores if GrandMA continued distributing their games, and having "gross negligence" in months-late communication to outdated or non-existent addresses, and less detailed royalty reports that made "independent verification mathematically impossible". I attached screenshots of a few excerpts detailing this.

GrandMA is represented by Mark P. Walters, a lawyer from the intellectual property law firm Lowe Graham Jones based in Seattle, Washington (like Big Fish Games was before BFG Entertainment bought it). A trial is scheduled by next year, May 17, 2027. An extra note: GrandMA is stated to be incorporated in the Republic of Cyprus. While the documents don't explicitly mention this, I believe GrandMA at some recent point moved from Ukraine to Cyprus due to the Ukraine war (similar to Domini Games), which is verified by GrandMA's website's terms and conditions.

It is currently unknown if and how will the eventual verdict of this case will decide GrandMA and Big Fish's future in the HOPA game industry; GrandMA's layoffs seem to be irreversible regardless, but who knows.

The Google Drive links to a PDF version of the article is here, and to the attached complaint by GrandMA's lawyer is here (this is a public record, so it is legal to share).
  • The official government King County Superior Court website in Washington. Search up the civil case with the case number 26-2-15547-0, and you'll see the case "GRANDMA STUDIOS LIMITED VS BFG ENTERTAINMENT INC". Viewing basic details is free; viewing other court documents requires signing up for an account and paying $8, which I opted to not do.

What HOPA series or developers would you actually want to see in a bundle sale?

We’ve been exploring more Hidden Object / HOPA bundle sale ideas lately, and we would genuinely love some feedback from people who actually know the genre well.

Are there any particular developers, series, or older games you’d personally love to see grouped together in a bundle sale?

Could be:

  • classic favorites
  • older Big Fish-era titles
  • overlooked series
  • hard-to-find games
  • specific developers
  • anything you still revisit or miss

There is clearly still a really passionate HOPA community out there, and honestly the feedback is genuinely useful for helping us understand what players still care about most.

What do you personally prefer in hidden object games: zoom, magnifying glass, or both?

I’ve been working on a cozy hidden object game recently, and one design question keeps coming back to me while polishing the experience. I started noticing that most hidden object games usually commit to either fullscreen zoom or a magnifying glass mechanic, but rarely both at the same time. In some older projects I worked on with a colleague, we only used zoom functionality and nobody ever seemed to have an issue with it, so I never really questioned that approach before.

For my current game, though, I decided to create a magnifying glass feature because I thought it fit the cozy travel atmosphere nicely and felt more immersive than constantly zooming the entire screen. I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out visually and functionally, but recently one player mentioned that they found it slightly inconvenient because the magnifier has to be activated manually instead of appearing through a right-click shortcut. That comment made me realize I might be overthinking the presentation side of the feature while players may simply care more about comfort and speed.

Now I’m genuinely curious what hidden object players here personally enjoy the most while playing. Do you find fullscreen zoom more relaxing and practical, or do you prefer a movable magnifying glass? Would a combination of both systems feel useful, or would that just become unnecessary clutter? I’d really love to hear what feels the most comfortable and natural to you in hidden object games, especially during longer cozy play sessions.

[PC] [2009-2013 most likely] hidden object / puzzle adventure game (HOPA) with statues and a snowy town

I bought it physically at Walmart in a bundle with Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles.

Here's what I remember:

the setting is a snowy / winter abandoned town or city, Victorian era I think.

almost entirely outdoors.

gray stone human statues everywhere.

the statues were alive or animated and had glowing eyes. I don't remember them moving, but I remember them being alive somehow for sure, or if they moved it was very slightly.

creepy atmosphere, maybe an older male narrator voice in the beginning.

you progressed by unlocking gates and revisiting areas with items/puzzles that you had to find. I clearly remember a gate and some sort of wheel mechanism.

there may have been a castle or fortress somewhere in the town.

classic hidden object + inventory puzzle gameplay.

not super fairy-tale/fantasy styled, more gothic and realistic.

I think I remember an arrow that was important too.

I already checked games like Grim Tales: The Stone Queen, Echoes of the Past: Royal House of Stone, and some Mystery Trackers games, and none of them seem right.

To be clear a lot of my memory here could be more imagined than real as I was around six or seven years old when I played this game. I could talk about specific areas, but I don't remember them too vividly, unfortunately.

HOG’s in the style of elephant games LLC, Friendly Fox and five-bn

I’ve played all of the games in their catalogues. I’m just about out of what to play next.

Any suggestions? I’m on an iPhone, so they have to be available on iOS.

Trying to remember a game

I wish I remembered more detail but... I remember you are in a HUGE either: factory, ship, or just an alternate world. The game has a ton of backtracking, and you are running around between like 20 rooms at a time.

1 scene I vaguely remember is a production line of dolls? Robots? Mannequins? I think you have to pass by it or help fix the machine. Another scene: there is a female doll or robot with its back to you looking in a mirror, she is in a huge white wedding dress and you have to find accessories for her or something.

I vaguely remember other things, like there being this big golem type of robot and next to it is like a furnace that you have to get through... this is a lot more fuzzy

I quit the game because of the backtracking but now that is exactly what I am looking for- I like the challenge
