[PC] [2005-2010] Black-and-white point-and-click game with an Escher-inspired scene
I'm looking for a free PC game I played years ago.
- It was probably a point-and-click game.
- It featured a scene inspired by M. C. Escher's "Day and Night."
- I think there was also artwork that felt similar to Alice in Wonderland.
- The game was mostly black and white.
- The graphics looked like pixel art, but not low-resolution or blocky.
- I also remember a scene where you could look out of a window at a town or city outside.
I played it sometime between 2005 and 2010.
It was a browser game, not a downloadable game (as far as I remember).
Any way to get Return to Ravenhearst full-screen?
I recently decided to replay Return to Ravenhearst to feed my nostalgia, but the game, being designed for old hardware, makes it incredibly difficult to play. I have a 1920x1080 monitor at 240 Hz, but every time I launch the game it forces the resolution down to 800x600 and 60Hz, and I have to manually change it back after closing the game. Is there any way to keep it windowed but resize the window to be the size of my screen? Literally just making the game's image bigger, no upscaling or anything, just so that I can actually SEE the game without having to change my system's resolution.

Grimey games / Mystery Case Files
Anyone else really just sad about Mystery Case Files? I used to really look forward to their yearly release and for big fish and it’s very generic games they really were an anomaly among them. The games were gothic, grimey, the dialogue was cliche but funny at times, it's aware of its parody nature, and the music / atmosphere was incredible plus the puzzles are actually quite difficult and fun. It’s a shame the series became a flanderisation of itself, the puzzles got easy and repetitive, the graphics butchered and the story was just bad and worst of all boring. I feel like it hasn't been the same since Fate’s carnival and I just miss grimey hidden object games and obviously the good games (early Ravenhearst etc) are getting more difficult to play on computers as time goes on. Love to know what people think plus if there’s any recommendations for similar games I’d love them.
Working hard on a brand new level for my HO game, OVERLOOK! 👀 Here's a tiny sneak peek. The game is also 70% off on Steam right now, so it's a great time to jump in!
Hidden Objects used to be so beautiful and dark...WTF happened??
Slide 5-10 are the older, grittier, grim and so elegantly made scenes and backgrounds.
The other slides are where it gets worse. All the graphics and backgrounds these days look like it came out of a children's storybook. Its so.. colourful and blue and purple. I hate hate it. Even the background is not worth looking at. Older games are so beautifully made that you just marvel at every scene. It actually made you want to play. But these newer games feel so childish, whenever i try to play them, i just get a headache and they focus too much on sparkles and animation. Im so sad to see that hidden objects have lost their Essence. I would give millions to play a newer hidden object game that still retained the old dark gritty and kind of dirty graphics.
Big update to my Anomaly Horror game, adding 22 new anomalies (90 total)
If anyone likes the idea of a Medieval themed Anomaly Horror game, check out my game "The Dark Path to the Black Tower". Following a recent update it now includes 90 anomalies divided between 3 campaigns, each focusing on a different NPC ("The Knight", "The Leper" and "The Father").
The game is available on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4414450/The_Dark_Path_to_the_Black_Tower/
Hopefully this post is welcome here, I know that 'Hidden Object Games' and 'Anomaly Horror' games share some key similarities.
Weird or Strange games
I’m looking for some weird or strange games to play—maybe even creepy or unsettling ones. I want to be genuinely surprised. I’m looking for hidden gems or obscure games, not the usual stuff on Steam.
Scary game?
I’m looking for games that can genuinely scare me and make me feel deeply uncomfortable. What games have truly frightened or unsettled you the most?
If they aren’t built around a traditional horror theme, that’s even better.
And don’t worry about trigger warnings—I’m looking for the really heavy stuff.
From iOS to computer
Hi. I’ve bought a lot of HOP’s from Big Fish through my iPhone. I just got a computer (not an Apple) and am wondering if my purchasing will transfer over.
Why do so many hidden object games hide the actual finding part?
I need to vent because this keeps happening and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
Hidden object games are my go-to brain-off break in a loud house. I'm a stay-at-home mom with a toddler, so I do not want a 900-system adventure. Give me a scene, a short list, let me click the tiny thimble behind the teapot, and let me feel like a competent human for three minutes.
Lately every new download feels the same: match-3, cutscene, dialog box, crafting screen, map with a currency, then a forced tutorial for some minigame I never asked for. By the time I finally get to a hidden object scene it's either a silhouette hunt (fine sometimes) or it's loaded with hint cooldowns and popups begging me to buy boosters.
I get that devs have to make money, but why make the hidden object bit feel like an afterthought? If I wanted to manage energy, upgrade a base, and grind for gems I'd play any other mobile game.
Am I just choosing the wrong titles, or is this where the whole genre is headed? If you know how to spot games that are actually scene-forward and not 80 percent minigames and currencies, please tell me. I'm tired of downloading something that looks cozy and getting a tutorial gauntlet when all I wanted was to find a spoon.
Midweek check: What are you playing this week?
We’re partway through the week!
What have you been playing to get you through?
Curious Paws is OUT NOW on Steam! Thank you for the amazing support
Hi everyone!
A few days ago we shared a sneak peek of our hand-drawn hidden object game, Curious Paws, and the response from this community completely blew us away. Your kind comments gave us a huge boost of confidence. Thank you so much for the upvotes and the incredibly warm welcome.
Our game has just officially launched on Steam and is now available with a launch discount.
For our tiny indie team, the launch of the game is a massive milestone. If you decide to pick it up and play, we would be deeply grateful if you could take a minute to leave an honest review on Steam. For a small project like ours, early reviews mean absolutely everything and help other cozy game players find us.
Thank you again for your amazing support.

Pc hidden object game about red haired woman
The game I've been looking for is an hidden object game for PC that has a protagonist with red hair and she's trying to save her hometown from an evil warlock or something similar and there are these wolf spirits that you have to get by and multiple puzzles
[PC][2012] Point and click/hidden objects with tarot
The game is a point-and-click and hidden objects, maybe from BFG Entertainment, but I'm not sure. The only things I remember are that it has a somewhat dark and nighttime vibe, it starts in a forest where you find a boat and go to another place, and that during gameplay there's a tarot(?) system where you need to find the cards to complete a puzzle. I played this game sometime between 2012 and 2015, I think.
Did anyone in the US buy "Reading the Dead" on Big Fish Games?
Reading the Dead, developed by Deck13 and published by Astragon came out in the US in 2011, seemingly only on Big Fish Games. Did anyone in the US buy this game when it was available?
Our small team made our first hidden object game, and it's in the Steam review stage right now! We want to ask you, what do you think?
Hi everyone. Since this is our very first game, it’s a very exciting moment for us. We ourselves like how it turned out, but that's not a very objective indicator, so we’d love to get your feedback on a few things:
- How do you like the art style?
- Is 6-7 levels enough for a full game on Steam, or do you think it needs more?
- Do you ever try to beat your own time (speedrun), or does speed not matter at all in chill games?
We'd love to hear your thoughts and chat in the comments!

I need help finding a name of a game that I keep thinking about
I played this game on my iPad from 2015 to 2020, probably made by big fish
it was a medieval style game. at the start a girl is kidnapped and brought to a snowy castle, and the main character is a bounty hunter or something going to find her. you start at the girl’s house and after a cutscene you’re at the gates and do a task to get in. in the plaza there is a ghost woman looking out a window, and you got to do a whole thing and trap her in a silver mirror. there was also a mama griffin and you needed to find her baby. at some point you end up in a dungeon or something and in that section there is a hydra and an underground ice lake. at the end of the game the griffin comes back to help you escape.
i don’t really remember anything else about it unfortunately
