- Black Breath

Revisited this band after a while this month. Excellent mix of death metal and crust. All 3 full lengths are excellent, but I am partial to the first two as my chart reflects. Their playing live next weekend, for the first time since they disbanded after their bassist's death in 2019. Will be catching them at Northwest Terror Fest

- Pig Destroyer

Speaking of NWTF, Pig Destroyer's gonna be playing Prowler in the Yard in its entirety. Cant wait to be in the pit for this one.

- 13th Floor Elevators

Finally checked out this band's second LP, Easter Everywhere, on Easter. Very good psychedelic rock and carries off from where the first record left off. A bit more mature songwriting here, which is why I think I prefer the debut. Mandatory psychedelic rock nonetheless.

- Converge

Doing a discog run of this band as I work my way to catch up with their two new releases this year. Jane Doe on this chart is a classic for a reason. This is the kinda metalcore I fuck with

- Assuck

I once saw a Anticapital LP for sale at a flea market for 100$. I thought it was ironic. I wish I had bought it though. Favorite record from one of my all time favorite bands

2026 Highlights:

- Burned Up Bled Dry (Old school powerviolence done right. No one does it like this anymore)

- Faucheuse (French Dbeat has been on a roll lately. This one sounds like Bombardement from last year and together they're doing very interesting things in d-beat and expanding the style for the better)

- Zanjeer (Full length kicks ass! Fuck Berlin, Free Falasteen!)

- Fossilization (Solid death doom)

- Cross (Solid hardcore punk)

- Gunner (same as above)

- No/Mas (Solid Grindcore with lil hints of melodeath (?) on this new record. Works though)
