KEF LS50 Meta vs R3 Meta

Hi all,

For some reason, in my country the R3 Meta is being sold at the same price as the LS50 Meta. I've been using the LS50 Meta for a long time at my computer and love it. I wonder if I should get R3 Meta for my living room? Is there any significant changes?

Early city building queue

What is your general building queue? I feel like there is an optimal queue for this game especially for the first few turns of a newly found city. Do you focus on production buildings first? Or gold? Or knowledge?

Need help with Federate Reavers

I just came back from the game and decided to try out Federate Reavers since I thought their guns are cool. Such a bad mistake. It has to be most convoluted and complicated faction in the game to play but somehow extremely limiting in your options and choices, relying heavily on RNGs. Rally of the Liege requires extensive knowledge in every and all units in the game to decide which one works with your core units. It's difficult and the rewards are not that great even.

I spent the last couple of days testing out Federate Reavers and came up with a few conclusions:

  • You can effectively only plan out HALF of your roster to best utilize your culture's trait. With an early army of 6, 1 being your hero, that means you only have 2 units to decide from. May as well slap 2 more magelock and have zero room left for any cool tome units/animals/variations. Every subsequent 6 stacks also NEED half of it as levies to get the HP and EXP boost. It's very limiting on what units you can actively plan for your main roster.
  • Federate Levy applies damage and accuracy boosts to your Federate Soldiers, so you WANT your Federate Soldiers to be damage dealers, ideally Range damage dealers to make use of the accuracy boost.
  • Rally units pool cannot be altered by tomes. So your tome units can't even be levy. It is purely RNG, based on the Free City/wonders you get. You do get higher-tiered units faster than normal based on tomes unlock. However Rally units are SLOW since you only get ONE recruitment of the specific unit every 15 TURNS. Even with Bannerlord and gold boost it is still excruciatingly slow if you want to field proper lineup instead of throwing random shits as levies. It's extremely frustrating to get the ideal army you want.
  • Your rally units also dont get a reverse "Engaged by Soldiers" effect to support damage so they are strictly inferior slot to have a high-tiered damage dealer here. So mostly, you want tanks/supports in this slot, further limit your choices.

With all that drawbacks, I sincerely believe Federate Reavers are in a terrible slot now. Ways to fix this class would be to give a reverse "Engaged by Soldiers" so at least you can have your cores as Levies as well instead of only buffing half of the army with limiting choices. Please also make rally that can recruit unlimited numbers of the same units available through sources. You already have recruitment points as a limiting factor for rally so I don't know why there is further restriction that I can only make 1 single magelock levy every 15 turns. It's stupid.

Please share your thoughts about Federate Reavers and let me know how you have been able to make this faction work since I sincerely feel like they are terrible as they are right now.

P/S: Just a quick note but their breacher Tier 3 units have really weird sound for their gunshot. It literally sounds like a fart. Idk if it's me or if anyone else is experiencing the same.

Reaver build

Just got back to AOW after awhile. Love the new Reaver rework. Is there any guide for the Federate Reaver? I'm a bit confused on how to use rally of the liege effectively since it is the federate reaver's main focus. However, it forces me to use a bunch of mismatched units from all over the places and I can't remember half of the things my units can do.

What are good tomes/builds for Federate Reavers?
