Shadows are super pixelated?

EDIT: Just in case anyone in the future has this same thing, to fix goto:

"C:\Users\<youruser>\AppData\Local\Athena\Saved\Config\WindowsClient"

then delete "Engine.ini" and relaunch the game. That fixed it for me.

Unless I put my shadow quality on the highest setting, my shadows are incredibly pixelated and blocky. Like pixel art, able to count individual shadow squares/pixels. Is this intended for performance? Or is this a bug? Also, I have my FPS cap set at 120 in game, but as you can see it also isn't working.

Here are pics. First is on cursed, second is on mythical.

Probably a repost, but is there a guide for returning players on what changed?

Last played around 2-3 years ago (last thing I remember was the hourglass just being added), and it seems like a lot has changed. Is there a list somewhere of big changes so I don't have to root through old patch notes and/or just run around for a while while figuring everything out?

Flying from PPT to the US soon, couple of questions.

1.) When I went to get my boarding pass on my Air France app, it said that PPT doesn't accept digital passes and that I would have to get a paper one at the airport. Is this correct? I've never seen this anywhere else before, so I just wanted to confirm.

2.) How early should I get to the airport for a morning flight (I believe departure is around 8-830)? I tried looking online, and it seems like this can be very hit or miss. Right now I'm planning on getting there around 2-2.25 hrs before departure.

3.) Follow up, I have heard that occasionally you get to jump to the front of the security line if you are flying in the higher classes. Is this true? I am flying business class, so it would be nice if this was a thing, although obviously not the end of the world if it isn't.

Thanks!

Funny blog I found

Saw someone post about Math 33X here so I looked it up and found this. Recommended read if anyone needs a good laugh and/or eye-roll.

How to play with teammates that don't comm?

Just got out of a game where 3 words total were said the entire time. I always try to comm as much as I can, but I struggle when my teammates don't reciprocate. I feel like I end up getting shot in the back a lot, because I'll hold an angle while my teammate watches my back, but then they'll move without saying anything and I die. Not to mention how hard it is to coordinate anything on T side. I know that there has to be a way for me to adjust my game to play with people like this, but I'm not sure how. Do I just start baiting? idk. It makes me mad and genuinely confused when I encounter people like this. What's the point of playing a team game if you're just gonna mute up and run it down?

Should I learn C++, or stick with C while learning how to work with STM32?

I'm in the process of learning about microcontrollers/embedded programming with an STM32 nucleo board, and am wondering about language choice. I've just been using C, since I'm decently comfortable with it and most resources for learning seem to be structured around it. Yet I keep hearing online about how modern C++ is so much better, and is slowly overtaking all the C code being created. I have a little experience in Java, but nothing otherwise related to C++ (if you can even call Java "related" to C++). Is it worth it to try to learn C++ at this point? Or should I wait and just focus on learning general embedded/uc topics first before trying to learn a new language?

Is it recommended to use HAL when starting with STM32?

I'm an EE student right now trying to get into embedded systems. I picked up an stm32 nucleo board and electronics kit to get started, and I'm just wondering if it's recommended to stay away from the stm HAL/code generation ecosystem as a beginner. I'm decently comfortable with C in general, and I've done a few simple tasks both with and without HAL(nothing more complicated than manipulating some GPIO registers). My original plan was to first expand on my knowledge using HAL and generated code, then try to recreate some of the stuff I make without it, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to learn or not. Is one method preferred over the other? Thanks.

Is this a bad idea for my summer?

I'm going into my second year of EE and am looking for something to do over summer. I was thinking of picking up an STM nucleo board or something and just tinkering with it, since I've done some PCB design work with STM chips before, but I've never actually programmed them. My only concern is that it will probably take a bit before I can do anything useful, since I'm not super comfortable with C and I don't have any actual project ideas in mind. Would this be a waste of a summer? Especially since I'm not entirely sure how I would describe it on my resume if I don't end up making one bigger project. Any other ideas? Thanks.

After 3+ years and multiple DNFs, I have finally finished the main series!

Man was it a journey! By far the most challenging yet rewarding series I have read. I feel like I need to do a re-read to properly appreciate everything, as I had multiple 6+ month long breaks from the series, but I don’t think I’m ready for that quite yet. Whats the consensus on the “spin-off” series? I’ve purposefully avoided interacting with the fandom at all, so idk what people think of it. Is it worth a read next? Or should I just decompress before starting my re-read?

Anyone know what the math 224 curve usually ends up looking like?

I'm in it right now and I genuinely have no clue what to expect for grades. I'm at a 93% rn, but we still have our 40% final so it will prob change. Just wondering how good I'll have to do on the final. Anyone know what the curves tend to look like for this class? Thanks.

USB Differential Pair Crossing?

https://preview.redd.it/y4s0p3qz7f2h1.png?width=2276&format=png&auto=webp&s=907fc6dc59defd83c8bb364575466a6c3b3aacf8

My USB-C routing requires the differential pair to cross over, and I'm struggling to figure out how to go about it. Above is what I have right now. The length's match each other within 0.046mm but I am concerned about the via on only one line. Any tips? I'm still very new to PCB design, so any help would be appreciated.

Tips for dealing with awper as a T on d2?

Just got out of a game where a CT awper was kinda destroying my team. I don't usually awp, and the guy who was buying awp on our team couldn't seem to kill their awper. The main issue seemed to be when we were pushing long and the CT awper was on goose. I couldn't think of a great way to deal with him. I tried to get my team to double peek with me, but they didn't really understand that. I tried smoking corner for our awp to sneak pit then try to kill the CT, but he just missed and died. What else can I do in this situation as a rifler to deal with a strong CT awper? It seems like d2 is the main map where this happens, as it has so many long sight lines and places for awpers to hold that are hard to deal with.

Any strategy for the ENGRUD application if I really only want one major?

Since it’s almost time to fill out the ENGRUD application, I’m wondering what to do for my second/third/fourth/etc choice major. The only major I really want is ECE, and if I don’t get it I’ll prob just try to transfer schools tbh. Is there any “strategy” to what I list as my other choices? Should I list a competitive major just so my chances of getting something else are lower? Or does it not really matter? Thanks.

Proposal form for engineering fee now open.

If anyone wishes to express their displeasure at engineering students having to pay a higher tuition than other students, here is a great place to do so. The form is open to all students and faculty.

Math vs Physics Minor?

Anyone done one or the other? I'm hoping to go into ECE, and would do one of these just for fun. Both sound basically as interesting as the other to me, and I'm just wondering if one is better suited for a minor. I would likely do the "mathematical physics" minor. It seems like the math minor is more open ended, but has anyone done one of these and had a particularly good or bad experience? Thanks.

WASE has gotten too busy recently, to the point where I get kicked more often than I can get into a server, and I'm not gonna pay money just for DM. Anyone on NA got decently populated DM servers that aren't WASE? Preferably center or west, but east coast is fine too.
