Was just thinking of how difficult it would be to not kill yourself with a "Momentum Control" type superpower. Would you accept this power if it meant you needed to learn it ASAP in order to use it in live mission scenarios? (involving some combat, exploration and/or search and rescue)

Note, the attached image is only one of the ways in which this power can be used. An instant momentum cancel would be a pretty basic maneuver for anyone with "Absolute Momentum Control" and it would also be one of the more dangerous tricks since failing to completely cancel your momentum could result in your brain getting crushed against your skull by its own momentum.

(I should also like to point out that the person on the right side is supposed to be an example of what happens when you cancel the momentum on your skin, skeleton and other external or near-external parts of your body but you fail to cancel momentum on your internal organs. Looking at it again, I can see it's a bit hard to tell what that image was supposed to represent.)

This power can of course be used to move yourself in any direction as well. And if you think of anything else that should theoretically be possible with "Absolute" control over momentum, then we can consider that a part of the power as well (within reason).

Genre-hopping covers like "Acoustica: Alarm Will Sound performs Aphex Twin"?

I just discovered the album "Acoustica: Alarm Will Sound performs Aphex Twin", an album of covers of Aphex Twin by Alarm Will Sound, a symphonic sort of band. The result is amazing! A symphony (idk if it technically counts as a symphony tbh, it just has a bunch of classical instruments playing so yeah) covering frantic breakbeat songs like Mt. Saint Michel is nuts, I love it.

Anything else like this that you can think of? it doesn't have to be such an extreme transformation of the original work, here are a few other examples:

Sturgill Simpson's cover of Nivana's song "In Bloom" - transforms a classic Nirvana track into something with a heavy country vibe

Ty Segall's album "Segall Smeagol", a cover of Harry Nilsson's album Nilsson Schmilsson - transforms this old album (maybe blues or just classic rock? idk) into a heavy garage sounding thing, I specifically love the cover of Coconut.

Twizzlers: Hershey chocolate flavor - better than expected, worse than I'd hoped

Not a real review here because they're kinda difficult to describe. I expected it to be really bad but found them to be decent enough.

If I had to describe the flavor I'd say it's more like a muted chocolate flavor, I guess much in the same way as classic Twizzlers have a muted strawberry flavor. Overall the flavor is weak but the munching experience of Twizzlers remains pretty good so I suppose a strong flavor isn't really necessary.

was looking around for interpretations of Primus lyrics and stumbled across the oldest comments I've ever seen on the internet. (from SongMeanings.com, launched in 2001)

comments are on the page for My Name Is Mud btw
