I think my M5 16” MacBook Pro with 48G of RAM is better than the new Steam Machine.

From what I have just read... In Cyberpunk 2077, my MacBook is way better than the upcoming Steam Machine. Crazy.

Coming back to where it all started... Am I making the right move?

I am attempting to make my first game... again. I used to have a Construct3 years ago, but never really did anything with it. When I got serious, I decided to go with GameMaker.

It has not worked well for me. I am not really interested in becoming a hard core programmer. GameMaker seems fine for those who are interested in learning code while developing. I thought I was one of those people, but I don’t get joy from figuring out how to code a feature. I spent weeks tweaking and re-tweaking stuff I should have easily completed. Like camera movement.

I started looking more into RPG Maker MZ, which I also own, but that is not giving me what I want either. Too rigid.

So I thought to take a look at Construct3 again. It seems to be hitting all of the right features I am looking for. And seeing that it is capable of making more complex games rather than the simple web stuff.

When I found out that Moonstone Island was made with Construct3, I was sold. It is a simple yet complex game that runs very well on my MacBook. I find it better “feeling” than Fields of Mistria, or Stardew Valley. I know the visuals are there, but the gameplay loops seem solid and intuitive.

So... Here I go again, jumping into game dev with Construct3.

I hope I am making the right decision.

BTW... I am making a holiday light farming sim RPG. Nothing mechanically big... at least I think.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

I have a Logitech G703 Wireless Mouse. What is best mouse software for Mac gaming?

I want to use my Logitech G703 for Mac gaming and I don’t want to use G Hub from Logitech. Are there alternatives?

Literally a Marvel Movie set in an ER.

The Pitt follows the same rhythm and beats of any Marvel Movie. High action sequences followed by intimate moments to drive story. Rinse and repeat.

Kerbal Space Program (Original) - MacOS (Steam) any issues? Mods?

So... just updated to an M5 Pro 16” w/48G... Saw Kerbal on Steam sale ($9.99) and bought it. I had it years ago, but just picked up the steam version. Didn’t know it had MacOS native port.

So... I remember how fun it was and was wondering if anyone has been playing it and if the MacOS port runs well? Also, any good mods capable of running on the MacOS version?

I currently have a base model M1 14” pro with 16G ram. Storyline is pretty sluggish. So I usually just switch over to a PC for my Storyline work.

But... I am going to update to the new M5 Pro MacBook Pro, and would like to just stay with the base model if possible. So... as the title states, will 24G or ram be enough... which means giving virtual windows 12G when running Storyline... or do I absolutely need to upgrade to 48G?

Anyone with any experience that can chime in?
