Waiting 2 cycles to talk to doctor

I know talking with the nurses is standard, and not a bad thing.

But I had something weird happen during my priming and the cycle failed. After a lot of confusing back and forth they offered to let me talk to the doctor only in another 2 cycles from then.

So my cycle failed late April and I talk to doctor late June. However they are refusing protocol adjustment. If I don’t want the same priming I must do so at my own risk even though it failed

Is this normal?

I have a referral waiting with another clinic ( week 11) . They did delay me several months now with other things ( not tests just admin like holidays so jumping ship is a big delay but an option I guess)

For anyone who went to PCRM clinic

My referral is 11 weeks in.

Did they still have you line up in the morning to scans?

Is it true all blood tests are handled by Lifelabs?

Do they adjust protocols if there’s an adverse issue - and more importantly can you speak with a doctor? Or is it a game of telephone with the nurses?

Are they responsive?

After 3 years of delays, and the last 7 months waiting around at Olive, only to have a failed priming cycle due to fainting and adverse event, I played a game of telephone with the nurses, I have no idea if doctor got the right info, I will start a natural cycle they don’t recommend ( because they wanted the exact same protocol that hurt me despite some existing chronic issues) . And I wanted to speak with doctor to make sure info is correct as I got a clue of conflicting info among nurses- my cycle is supposed to start in a few days and they booked me to talk to doctor on JUNE 24!! Thereby likely missing 2 more cycles.

Navigating US healthcare as a self-pay Canadian

I am booked for an uncommon scan of the gallbladder (HIDA) but it costs a fortune even as self pay( 3.600 usd so 5k CAD ) I read there are things like MDsave in some places and hospital local discounts. What is the script? Do you negotiate? Do they expect you to? I know it’s marked up 5 times more than Medicare pays them for it and I’m supposed to do something about it.

I can’t get any help in Canada so after the scan the surgery will be down in Washington too

Now here’s something you don’t see every day

A huge network of mineshafts in a mega cave system above probably the largest ancient city I have seen yet

Speed of symptom progression

Has anyone here had hyperkinesia, or an entirely functional gallbladder issue?

How fast did it get worse from when you first noticed symptoms or were able to pinpoint it’s the gallbladder?

Since January I got worse and worse with some brief breaks with meds ( all of which turns out to be highly dangerous for me in some form like arrhythmias and burning feet sort of side effects)

I lost more than 10 pounds since then alone. I’m already very slim. I can’t eat ham, cheese, yogurt now, sometimes even crackers or wafers. No meat. I have gotten away with eating some but very risky and only on meds.

Doctors so far refuse to do anything or operate and it’s screwing up my IVF treatments I’m trying so hard to do because I’m getting to old to wait

It’s all happening at once- and I’m even worse since my failed IVF priming.

Is there anything you guys take to stop the severity? I’m often in pain when on an empty stomach, and rarely directly after a meal unless it’s already hurting but then it gets really bad. Generally I’m better off on an empty stomach but I’m starting to feel dizzy every day because I’m not eating

Question about repeat priming

I have hypermobility and very recent pre existing hip pain issues that resolved very well prior to starting. The priming was done for 10 days with estrogen patches. I got my full period during the priming ( not at all after) and a fainting/ massive pelvic pain episode.

I had to cancel the stims because the pelvis was too irritated- but recovered within 4 days of stopping priming.

I don’t want to start stims at a bad baseline. I asked to cancel the cycle and a natural start next month.

Clinic pushed back that because of my PCOS that can’t be done. I have to repeat the priming, and now me cancelling the cycle is moot. Just wasted time? Isn’t it crazy to do the same priming protocol? I don’t think period was intended to hit 6 days before stims

I have perfectly regular periods and perfect ultrasounds ( in fact they missed the PCOS first time around)

If I push for natural start am I really compromising the cycle?? I feel we are playing a game of wire with nurses acting as intermediary between me and doctor and I don’t think all my issues were presented to him. Not to mention hypermobility and functional/ stress related gallbladder issues

I really need your input if anyone with PCOS decided to just go with a natural start
