Finally! Blender 5.2 can do easy cloth tearing, something that was quite difficult or required special paid add-ons before.

How I made this object: I created a sphere, scaled it up a bit using proportional editing in random mode, which created some irregularities, and then smoothed it all out using the subdivision surface modifier.
