[Academic] Feedback on an AR Grocery Navigation App Concept

Hi everyone,

I am conducting a brief survey for a research project on an Augmented Reality (AR) Grocery Navigation App. The project explores how AR overlays can assist shoppers in navigating supermarket aisles, finding items on their shopping list, and locating in-store deals.

Target Demographics: teenagers and young adults who go grocery shopping or join family shopping trips.

Length: ~2–3 minutes (Short multiple-choice questions).

Data Privacy: Completely anonymous. No email addresses, names, or contact details are collected.

Survey Link: https://survey.zohopublic.in/zs/st4Bgy

If you have a survey of your own that needs responses, please drop your link in the comments after completing mine—I would be happy to complete yours in exchange!

Thank you for your time and help!

Google Pixel 7 SMSC "Update Error" / "Not Available" glitch on Airtel (India) — Settings app crashes, need help!

Hey everyone,

I’m running into a incredibly stubborn issue with my Google Pixel 7 on Airtel (Mumbai, India) where I cannot send outgoing SMS, meaning I am completely locked out of verifying my net banking apps.

My Pixel 7 itself is in great shape , but the network side is completely stuck. Here is exactly what is happening:

The Core Issue: In the Google Messages app under Settings > Advanced, the SMSC is grayed out and shows "Not available".

The App Crash: Previously, trying to open the "Advanced Settings" menu in Google Messages would lag out and crash the app entirely. I managed to stop the crash by clearing the storage/cache for both the Messages app and Carrier Settings, but SMSC still shows "Not available".

The Phone Info (##4636##) Menu: When I go into the Testing menu and try to refresh or update the SMSC (using Mumbai Airtel's number +919898051916 or even converted to Hex PDU: 07911989895091f611000b911989895091f60000aa00), it immediately throws a "refresh error" or "update error".

The SIM Works Elsewhere: If I put this physical Airtel SIM card into my Realme Pad, it reads the SMSC and works completely fine. But the second it goes back into the Pixel, the Pixel refuses to read or write to the SIM's SMS partition.

It feels like the Pixel's modem firmware is strictly blocking the SIM or they are completely out of sync.

Before I head to an Airtel store to get a physical SIM replacement (duplicate SIM), has anyone encountered this specific "SMSC Not Available" lock on a Pixel? Is a physical SIM swap indeed the only fix, or is there some hidden toggle or carrier provisioning trick I've missed?

Appreciate any advice!
