TIFU by thinking my wife and I could give myself a haircut at home
I was tired of waiting for a haircut a couple weeks back and decided to shave it off using the same guard all around. While it didn’t look bad, looked bland. The wife and I talked and I decided with her help we could give myself a fade into a short top similar to a crew cut.
I was wrong, very wrong… we started with a 5mm all around the head leaving the scalp and it was alright looking but very obvious without any blending. Well from there I decided I wanted take the side burns out as they didn’t really flow with what we had goin on.
This is really where I fucked up as I grabbed the 1mm guard and shaved em off. Well as you can imagine now the rest of the sides of my head didn’t match in length to my newly shave sideburns. So I took further up…
Moral of the story we spent about 20 min trying to make something work as far blending it in. That did NOT work and I eventually said enough is enough. We decided I either go full Chuck Liddell Mohawk or leave it and see if a professional can take care of it tomorrow AFTER WORK
with some convincing (rightfully so) I decided to leave it be and let a professional try to scavenge it tomorrow. At least this way if I have to go Mohawk it’ll be straight.
Anyway, my head now looks like a mushroom that’s been trampled. Trying to find the humor in it all.
TL;DR: Cut my own hair and I look like a mushroom.
