I got a snake a few months ago so every time I feed my snake a f/t mouse, I now also feed my hedgehog a f/t pinky once a week. She loves them. She gets so happy she has the most hyper zoomies after eating it.

Well today I decided to hold her while I presented the pinky on a small paper plate. I thought she’d keep it on the little plate, but I was mistaken lol.

She went crazy with it. Flipped it a few times even. She was covered in blood (and now me) and stopped every few seconds to anoint. She loved it in the craziest way.

It was a bit gross to see her smiling with blood on the side of her mouth and to have the pinky flung around my clothes. But she’s worth it.

Won’t be feeding her like that again though lol. Next time I’ll safely have the pinky in her own enclosure.

TRIGGER WARNING LIVE FEED!

Today I tried a live fuzzy and she finally ate…. I’m so glad she ate and I’m relieved she’s okay….. it’s a bittersweet moment though cause this is the first time I’ve ever fed live and it was so heartbreaking… I heard the fuzzies final two squeaks… and I just cried

It’s going on 5 months since I got her and the previous owner said she’s a year old and on frozen thawed pinkies her whole life weekly. I’ve tried frozen thawed pinkies at first then switched to f/t fuzzies as others said that’s the size a year old should be having now. I’ve tried EVERYTHING to get her to eat. I managed to order a live fuzzy for this weekend cause feeding live is the only thing I haven’t tried yet. Her temp and humidity is normal. Her enclosure is filled with fake plants and hides.

She’s still climbing and exploring almost daily. She’s even grown quite a bit since I got her. Although she has lost a little weight.

Before getting a snake, I researched and found an exotic vet in my area. They advertise themselves as an exotic vet. BUT when I called to make an appointment they told me the exotic vet RARELY visits. I’m panicking. I’ve tried calling around for exotic vets but the closest is an hour away. I hate how the vet in my city advertised themselves as an exotic vet but then basically said they weren’t reliable as one.

Anyways wish me luck, this weekend imma try a live fuzzy. I really really hope it works.

I thought they were at least gonna do a tie breaker but it’s been two months since the last manhunt

Keep getting several warnings on my phone. Wanna know how serious this is

I hate hate hate live bugs but I handled them so I could give her a little snack. I tried a few different times to feed her them but she wasn’t interested and ignored them. I got mealworms and a hornworm. Should I just give these bugs away to someone who can use them or should I keep trying?

I genuinely love this series and still can’t get over the season finale. I’d love to hear what other people thought of it as well. I cannot wait for it to come back on, I feel like I’m going crazy just sitting here waiting for the next season lol.

I’ve had my rosy boa for 3 months now and she has failed to take her first meal with me. I feel like I’ve tried everything, changing mouse size, cup method, tong feeding, holding the mouse a different way, just leaving it in her enclosure see if she’ll get it. At what point do I take her to the vet if she continues not eating? Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

Edit: she has a proper heat set up. She’s about a year and she hasn’t lost much weight and is still active

It’s been almost a month since I got my snake. She’s around a year old and she hasn’t eaten her first meal with me yet. I’ve been trying weekly but each time she refuses. I’ll even leave it an alone in her enclosure with the lights off and she’ll just ignore it. Her previous owners said she’s been on pinkie frozen thawed and that’s what I’ve been trying to feed her. I’ve been avoiding holding her to not stress her out. Her heat is on the recommended temperature. Not sure what else to do.
