Suggest me some cool places in City Centre, Durgapur!

Hey everyone!

I've been in Durgapur for the last couple of weeks because of work, and I'm looking to explore City Centre on my off days.

Can you guys suggest some cool places to hang out in and around City Centre? 😄

I'm looking for:

- ☕ Cool cafés

- 🍔 Good food/street food

- 🌆 Nice places to chill in the evening

- 🎮 Fun activities

- 🌳 Peaceful/interesting spots

- 👀 Any hidden gems that aren't too obvious

Basically, if you had a free evening in City Centre, where would you go?

Drop your suggestions! 🙏🙏

Moving to Asansol for work – Need advice on PGs and rent

Hi everyone,

I'll be relocating to Asansol soon for a new job and I'm looking for a decent PG to stay in.

Since I've never lived in Asansol before, I wanted to ask for some local advice.

What is the average monthly rent for a boys' PG?

How much should I expect to pay for a PG with food included?

Are there any PGs that you'd personally recommend or suggest avoiding?

Is it better to stay in a PG or rent a room instead?

I'm looking for something clean, budget-friendly..

Any suggestions or personal experiences would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Which IEM should I buy? KZ Duonic vs KZ Castor Pro vs Tangzu Wan'er SG vs FiiO JD1 (using JCALLY JD12 DAC)

Title: Which IEM should I buy? KZ Duonic vs KZ Castor Pro vs Tangzu Wan'er SG vs FiiO JD1 (using JCALLY JD12 DAC)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy my first decent pair of IEMs and I'm confused between these four options:

- KZ Castor Pro

- Tangzu Wan'er SG

- KZ Duonic

- FiiO JD1

I'll be pairing whichever I buy with a JCALLY JD12 DAC, so powering them shouldn't be an issue.

My usage is roughly:

- 🎮 60% Gaming (mostly Valorant, so footsteps, imaging, and positioning matter a lot)

- 🎵 40% Music (I listen to a mix of Bollywood, pop, EDM, and a bit of everything)

I'm looking for:

- Good imaging and separation for FPS games.

- Clear, detailed sound without harsh treble.

- Bass that's present but doesn't overpower footsteps or vocals.

- An IEM that's enjoyable for both gaming and music.

If you've owned or tried any of these, which one would you recommend and why? Also, if you think there's a better option in a similar price range, I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Probably weird thing to ask here

This might be a weird question, but I'm genuinely curious.

I visited Darjeeling for the first time recently, and one thing that really stayed with me was the smell of the air. The moment our vehicle entered Darjeeling, there was this incredibly pleasant aroma in the atmosphere that I can't stop thinking about. It's honestly something I miss now that I'm back.

I'm not sure how to describe it exactly—it felt fresh, slightly sweet, maybe woody or earthy? I don't know if it comes from the pine trees, the tea gardens, the weather, some local fragrance, or if it's just the natural scent of the hills.

Does anyone know what that smell actually is? Is it something people from the hills recognize or talk about? And for someone living in Kolkata, is there any way to experience that smell again—maybe through a perfume, incense, essential oil, or something similar?

I'd love to hear your thoughts or experiences. Maybe others who visited Darjeeling felt the same thing too!

Help in buying guide

I'll be leaving Siliguri soon and moving back to Kolkata permanently after spending the last few months here.

During my time here I've explored North Bengal a bit, visited the hills a couple of times, enjoyed the weather, food, and overall experience of living away from home for the first time. Before I leave, I'd like to take back something meaningful as a memory of this phase of my life.

I'm not looking for the usual keychains or generic souvenirs. I'd prefer something I can keep in my room for years—a showpiece, wall decor, handcrafted item, tea-related collectible, or anything that instantly reminds me of Siliguri, Darjeeling, or North Bengal.

I was initially planning another hill trip this weekend, but with the current weather I'm considering checking out Bidhan Market or Hong Kong Market instead.

For locals and people who have lived here, what would you recommend buying as a memorable keepsake before leaving? Is there anything uniquely associated with Siliguri or the hills that would make a good long-term souvenir?

Would love to hear your suggestions and personal experiences.

Help me Deciding

I'm confused between buying the Realme Buds Wireless 3 neckband or trying an IEM for the first time.

My main priority is music quality. I mostly listen to songs and don't really care much about gaming or calling features. I've never used an IEM before, so I'm wondering if the jump in sound quality is actually worth it compared to the Realme neckband.

If I go for an IEM, I don't want to deal with external DACs or dongles. I'd prefer something simple that comes with a Type-C cable or has Type-C connectivity out of the box, so I can just plug it directly into my phone.

Budget is around ₹2,000.

Would you recommend sticking with the Realme Buds Wireless 3, or should I experience IEMs for the first time? And if IEMs are the better choice, which Type-C models would you suggest?

Thanks!

A job in IT field

Hi everyone,

I'm currently transitioning from a logistics and operations background and looking to start a career in the PC hardware and IT field.

For the past few years I've worked in e-commerce operations and team handling, but I've always been passionate about computers and peripherals. Building PCs, learning about graphics cards, monitors, keyboards, mice, RGB setups, troubleshooting hardware, and staying up to date with the latest components are things I genuinely enjoy.

I'm thinking about starting from an entry-level position and learn from experienced people. Roles such as PC Assembly Technician, Hardware Technician, Desktop Support, System Builder, or even working in a computer store would be something I'd love to do.

I'm based in West Bengal and will be relocating to Howrah/Kolkata. If anyone knows of any openings, companies, custom PC builders, service centers, or has any advice on how to break into this industry, I'd be extremely grateful.

I'm enthusiastic, eager to learn, and ready to work hard to build a long-term career in this field.

Thank you!
