Distance in Both Eyes Experiences

Hi, everyone. I've already had my left eye set for distance and have my other cataract surgery in about a month. I initially chose distance again, but I asked my specialist what she would do...and she said she'd go mono for herself. It has given me analysis paralysis. I have never had to wear glasses but have been using readers lately. I just don't know what to do. I would love to not have to wear glasses to use my phone, laptop, and cook, but it isn't the end of the world to me. However, I want the cripiest vision possible without the fear of feeling off or that my eyes are crossing. It's like I feel my vision might be better if both eyes match. Maybe that's stupid. Please share your experience.

Why did you go distance and not mono? Did you wear glasses prior to cataract removal? Is most of your tasks done up-close and you are still glad you went distance? Are you truly happy with the outcome? Any mono people reading and have any regrets? Is mini-mono the way to go? I know it all depends on the person. Just so hard to choose.

Light Sensitivity Glasses Rec

Hi, all. I am on a journey to understand my teens issues. She has had light sensitivity and visual issues for a long time. In the past, she has had a handful of what we believe were vestibular migraine attacks that took place over a ten year timespan. For a long while now, she claims to not experience dizziness and rarely a physical headache, so I assume she might be experiencing silent migraines. I'm new to understanding migraine types. She also has iron and vitamin D deficiency and is using supplements to correct these deficiencies. About a week ago, I purchased BRADDELL Indoor FL-41 glasses that supposedly have a visible light transmission of around 40-45%. These seem to benefit her when using the computer but do not help her with fluorescent lighting. I keep seeing recommendations for Avulux and TheraSpecs. These glasses cost considerably more, which is ok. However, I'd love to hear your experience with using either brand to help combat fluorescent lighting before giving them a go. Please let me know what brands have helped you. I'm also curious if anyone had any difficulties returning nonprescription lenses that did not work for you. Are there other forums I should post this question to for additional help. I just want to help my teen. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Need some perspective. My SD has always been high-maintenance with her hobbies and need for DH's attention. Now that she’s older, she’s testing major boundaries (sneaking around/boys), and it’s effectively killed our ability to spend overdue time together regarding getaways. Has anyone else dealt with a teen 'reclaiming' their parent's attention just as they were supposed to be gaining independence? I’m struggling with the resentment. DH gets very defensive when I talk to him about her. His parenting style has always been to make her happy. I am considering moving out until she graduates in a few years. I am tired of constantly living my life in the shadows of a self-centered child. I am ready to consider my happiness again. I've paid my dues for almost 10 years now. Has anyone moved out and successfully maintained a relationship with DH until their SD/SS graduated and moved out, and then rejoined DH post graduation?
