Need advice on eero layout for long narrow house
I have a long (~60ft) narrow house. Internet connection is at one end of the house. We have been using 3 2nd-gen eeros, spaced in a line. With the 2nd 38 ft from the gateway and the 3rd 22 ft from the 2nd (and 60ft from the gateway). We just upgraded our fiber from 50 to 500 and ISP just sent us a new eero 6E. Most of us seemed to be doing just fine with the older system, except teenage son who is a gamer (his room is between the middle and far eeros).
Here are my questions:
Will the 2nd gen eeros work with the 6E as a gateway?
Should I replace the 2nd-gen eeros with two more 6E units? Would one more be enough? It looks like most things in my house are connecting through middle eero (even things in the same room as the far eero).
Should I pay someone to run cat-6 through the attic and walls so I can put the gateway 6e more centrally in the house? Could I get away with just one eero unit if I did this?
