How detailed should be a comic script?

When I have a scene in mind, I sometimes assume certain details are so obvious that I don’t bother mentioning them.

  • The scene takes place on a paved mountain road: in one panel it becomes a muddy trail.
  • The heroine has just her hair tied up in a braid: it’s illustrated with the longest hair I’ve seen since Rapunzel.
  • A modest blogger lives in his car to travel from one event to another: the car becomes a Porsche.

How do you do historically accurate comic books?

What are your systems to describe or provide accurate visual documentation for the artist?

Visual communication

As a scriptwriter still heavily inspired by a ton of visual references and especially cinema, I deliver very detailed scripts that often include lots of references, my own breakdowns, etc. But I can’t seem to get that across to the artists I work with, and things usually go badly (visual style mismatched with the requested tone, very random panel layouts, important plot points forgotten, continuity errors all over the place, etc.).
What advice do you have to avoid these kinds of problems in the future? I love writing, but a script on its own doesn’t work as a standalone piece.

How to write a good scene taking place in Space

How to properly describe ships, environments, planets, and their position etc.? Here's an example of a description I'm struggling with:

PAGE 2 & 3: SPLASH PAGE PANORAMA

In the background, part of the terrestrial planet Aquila: similar to Earth but with very few seas. What stands out most is a bright patch of light representing the local metropolis and a large white area in the north corresponding to the local Himalayan mountain range.

Various satellites orbit the planet. But dominating the center of the image is the ALPHA space station, shaped like a wheel to generate gravity. It is primarily an assembly of different interlocking modules.

In the foreground, on the opposite side from the planet, the Faster-Than-Light H8 spacecraft (similar to an American Space Shuttle) is approaching Alpha Station.

H8 PILOT: (off-screen, radio)
OK Alpha Station, we are beginning docking procedures.

Theory: Kamos is another Orpheus

When I've read about the mythical battle Silent Sanctuary I thought first it would be helping Orpheus to try to bring back his Eurydice to Earth. So I felt a bit disappointed with that quest about getting back a relic from Kamos.

But what if Kamos worked for Hades because he tried to bring back from the dead his own beloved, the mother of Kamina?
