I’m not too familiar with earthquakes but did anyone else just feel a rumble? I just saw our hanging lights just swinging a little and decorative glasses and stuff on glass shelving start to vibrate. It sounded like the middle of her entire apartment building rumbled and thudded slightly. Anyone else?

Preface:
Regardless of your country of origin, nationality, social standing, religious preference, political preference du jour, or -isms, I have two honest questions for all of you. The only caveat I insist upon is that you consider your answers carefully and respond honestly without excuse or bias whatsoever (I know it’s hard nowadays, but please try, if for no one else or other reason, simply because I am honestly asking you :) )

The Reason Why:
This current modern “civilized” world is so hair-trigger hyper-sensitized and hostile in both real and digital forums that i know it’s hard to believe that people want to and still can actually try to understand you. We all used to actually talk to each other; now it’s at each other. Over this or that crisis and who’s more mad at who about this and that that actually has little or nothing to actually do with our REAL daily lives. It breaks my heart at how “normal” that is now; and I kinda feel someone has to be willing to at least give it a shot and do something to help heal instead of hinder or hurt.

It is in that spirit that I would like to ask all of you two questions I don’t think many of you are being asked. This comes from a kind place from someone who actually does genuinely care about your response.

Question #1: Are you okay?

Question #2: What is one good thing that you can do for someone you love today?

I’m not exempting myself from this either; here are my answers:

Answer #1: Yes, I woke up this morning with breath in my lungs, a song to sing, a bounce in my step, and an opportunity to try to make someone’s life better, which helps make mine better too. And it is 100% free to do :) Most of what I did have to my name in life was destroyed when my home flooded. I don’t have much money; but who really ever does anyway. 😊 I am almost penniless, practically homeless (thank god my car at least still runs) and actually still have so much I am grateful for in my life. It’s almost funny because it took me losing almost everything I ever had, to realize I had been blind to everything I did have already. It sounds cheesy but, that knowledge makes me feel incandescently better about my life and realize what true treasures I have in the people and connections I have made in it. Nothing will ever be able to take that truth away from me :)

Answer #2: I told my son, my mother, my father, and my siblings how much I love them and that they don’t have to worry about me. I told them how much I wish I was in their lives more, but I understand how hard it is to be solvent and appreciated by others these days, and I still love them with all my heart even so, and look forward to when I can hug them tight in person again.

Hope for Humanity Challenge:
I wasn’t intending to do this first thing this morning, but it feels right to do. I honestly don’t think a lot of us came back fully from the shelter-shock of COVID. We have to relearn how to be people again; and the people I remember fondly from before cared about each other. We came together and consoled each other in our sorrows, but also remembered to come together and celebrate in our joys.
If this helped your day, honestly; I wanna see if we can send this around to as many people as we can. Just cut n paste it and repost it, and see how many people we can help have a little more hope today. It doesn’t cost anything but a moment of your time, and just a little bit of love to help it go far.

It takes people being kind to one another to restore a little bit more hope in both humanity and our own lives again.

Hey everyone; got a weird question about something that is a bit of a sensitive subject. Namely to do with ghosts.

I’m from out of town from FL and am in Ogden staying with my mom while she convalesces after a really bad hospitalization and am here till mid-September. I know this is gonna sound weird, but lemme just tell ya what happened tonight.

It was around 3:30am and my mom stays over in the Altair Riverwalk Apts. area; she’s got an apartment out here and I was going out to the kitchen to rinse out a glass and get a drink. While doing so, I swear out of the corner of my eye not 10ft away from me in her pantry I swear I saw something with a yellow face and two black eyes peer around the upper part of the doorway from within her pantry and stared at me. It was there for a couple seconds until I took notice of it out of my periphery and turned to look and it was gone.

I’m not really a stranger to paranormal stuff and did what I usually do and thought out to it that I am a guest in this home and that it belongs to my mother; and that if it means us no harm that I meant it no harm and would not mind going about my business in peace, but that if it meant something for ill that this home is protected in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and is not welcome to harm my mother or I. I didn’t see anything else but it still felt uncannily like something was watching me from the pantry.

Anyone know of any hauntings or local lore about or in the area that may explain this particular area?

EDIT: So after doing a bit of research, I’ve noticed and noted that the Ute and Shoshone tribes apparently used to paint their faces yellow out of grief, mourning, or before going into battle where they faced certain death. i’m hoping it’s not an ancestral spirit or something, but the intent that I communicated to it was not to rebuke, but to communicate my intent as peaceful as long as it meant no harm. Ive gotten DMs about shadow people and to that I have to say: I’ve never seen a “shadow person” that looked like that ever in my life; let alone one that would’ve been that damn tall, I’ll show you a picture of where it turned its face out to look at me from her pantry.

Another thing I’ve been noticing is on both my iPad and my iPhone my batteries are draining reeeeeally fast in this apartment. For example this morning when i brought my iPad out to the kitchen with my mom and i making breakfast it had a 100% charge and in roughly 20 minutes it was down to 17%. Same thing with my iPhone, it was fully charged when I brought it out of my room off the charger and it was at 9% in the same timeframe! Now I know about battery degradation over time but there is no possible way or I don’t know of any other way that my batteries would do that.
